  1. And not going back to Hobby Lobby for anything.............
  2. lol I've been saying that for about 2 months now...........that's not going to happen.
  3. Our local one has been putting a clearance section at the end of each isle. For some reason lately they have been putting kits in the isle with the diorama stuff and x-acto blades, that's 2 or 3 isles away from the kit isle. I picked up a snap together monster truck for my son for 6 buck because of this, the box was banged up but the kit was fine, i also got a Tamiya weathering kit for 2.00 because someone dropped it and the snow one busted up and was everywhere. I got it home and wiped it down with a paper towel and the other 2 are fine. And our local one is raided by model builders several times a day! lol
  4. Both of the stores i went to still had all the clearance kits mixed in with the normal priced ones. I also went to the clearance sections and found nothing. Even the tools and sanding stuff were still in there normal spots but they all had the yellow mark down stickers on them. I urge you all to go back and check again.
  5. Some of it is and will melt the part. Be sure to always use a primer first to reduce the chances of melting. Even better test it on a extra part from that kit or even some of the bare junk parts tree first.
  6. You cant really sand a metallic paint without screwing it up. Even a little sanding will change the color and start turning silver. Just happened to me with Plum crazy Purple from Model Masters.
  7. Went to 2 diffrent Hobby Lobbys today when i heard they were getting rid of a few kits and marking them down and scored 5, another set of Flex-i-file's and 2 more cans of paint. The 70 Mustangs were 14.49 each, the 2010 was 15.49 and the Vette was 11.99, the files were 15.something and the paint was 2.22. Untitled by jrherald420, on Flickr

  9. I will be going tomorrow. Hoping for a big score!!
  10. Don't use a cardboard box to cover fresh paint. The cardboard has loose dust and paper trapped on the face of it. Use a plastic rubbermaid container but only after wiping it down with a tack cloth.
  11. Good to know, i ended up selling it to someone that is going to restore it.
  12. Nice, i just finished one the same color a month ago.
  13. OK so Facebook is saying its a 440 not a Polara
  14. I dont rebuild, i just wanted to save it from the junk box and maybe even destruction.
  15. Got this in a box of stuff built in the 70's. This is all that i found for it. I think its a 1964 Dodge Polara, but it it worth anything? Whats funny is i found the glass and front bumper for a JOHAN on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Models-Kits-/1188/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=Dodge+Polara+model IMG_0228 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMG_0229 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMG_0230 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMG_0231 by jrherald420, on Flickr
  16. Nice work! I have this kit to build, i am planning on dropping in a Hemi from either the 68 Dart or 68 Charger kits.
  17. Should be a fun show. Just got to finish 2 more cars before it gets here....lol
  18. Great build. This one is on my must buy list for sure.
  19. Nice, i found one of these that was molded in the orange sparkle color at Hobby Lobby. Its still there if anybody is interested.
  20. Fun fact, there is still 1 Super America! Its in Louisville, KY. The land owner is a bit of a jerk and will not allow them to change their name without hiking up the land lease to almost 4-5 times what it was 20 years ago when it was signed. He had been looking for a way to break their lease agreement and that was something wrote in the original lease. Now its called Speedway Super America. LOL This is also why Speedway will never lease property anymore. If they cant buy it, they wont build there.
  21. BP is still all over around me. FYI, Speedway is owned by Marathon, my wife is a recruiter for Speedway. They are building about 20 new stations in TN this year then branching farther south late 2014 early 2015.
  22. Wow, i signed up for MCM 3 weeks ago and i got the first issue over a week ago. Just noticed the same thing, its the Dec 2013 issue. Sadly this is the only way i can even get MCM around here since Hobby Town USA went out of business. Oh well.
  23. The cheapest i have found it around here is 26.00. In my case its a lot cheaper to buy online when you factor in the 9.75% tax and the 40 mile round trip.
  24. Dont know how i missed this thread. Glad to see it coming back to life!
