  1. Thanks Charlie, if I had the money I'd buy it straight from her, it's a solid car that would be a great daily driver Tom, what do you think it's worth? I'm a Chevy guy so estimating a reasonable price for something I don't know much about isn't easy, I've done research and they're all over the map depending on condition, I'm thinking about listing it on Craigslist for $5000 and I can expect to be negotiated down to $4500 or so
  2. Here's some mockup I took the other day, Here you can see the sump I scratch built, I'll be running fuel line from here, to the pump, to the regulator and then to the carb.
  3. Thank you Tyrone, I've got some mockup shots I'll post here in a few minutes, it's almost done, just a few days
  4. One more thing before bed, I finished the magnafuel fuel pump, it's not 100% accurate but it does the job
  5. Here's a rear 3/4 shot of it, it's a nice car, it should sell fast and I definitely can use the money
  6. Every update amazes me with your skill, nice work Stan
  7. I would if I didn't just drop $4500 on a drag car, I'd love to buy this car as it's perfect, the interior was immaculate, the paint isn't show quality but it's good, the thing runs pretty bad (it's been sitting with ethanol in it for about a year and a half) but it's a good car.
  8. A 1978 Ranchero GT, I didn't actually buy it, my neighbor is having me get it running good and detailing it to sell it for her. She wants $3000 for it and she told me anything over that I get 10% of.
  9. This ought to be neat, I can't believe how fast you work, you've finished 3 so far while I've been working on the mustang
  10. Thanks Stan, right now all I have to do is get the engine and fuel plumbing finished, I'm also working on an alternator and power steering pump bracket so they aren't "floating". I took some good mockup photos so I'll have to get them up
  11. The interior is completely finished and as of now, is glued in place in the body. Yes I know there is injector pin marks on the bottom of the seats, I tried to get rid of them but I was just sanding the detail off the seats. With the body on you cant see them anyways. I also know the belts aren't correct, they're a mixture of the lever and cam lock type, I made them from left over bits and pieces from a detail master kit. Let me know what you think, what I can try to add, fix, or do in the future. All criticism and comments are welcome
  12. Heres the update, I have finished the interior. I added a 5 point harness to the drivers seat and a lap belt to the passenger I made a transbrake button and wired it in I finished the MSD box and wired it in for all of its functions, I see that I need to fix the decal on it I have finished pictures of the completed interior, more to come
  13. Thank you everybody, I'm sorry about not updating this in a while, life and work has taken up much of my building time, I have gotten some stuff done so I'll get the pictures up right after I post this.
  14. I play sports (run track and play football) but that seems to be all that kids these days care about, active sports. Beside the FFA kids I know, nobody is into cars in my grade (10th). Outside school, all kids care about are sports, games, or minor things like riding bikes or skateboards. Nobody is into mechanical things anymore, sure if I wasn't into drag racing or cars in general, I doubt I would have started building models. I believe that's what's wrong with kids these days, we have nobody interested in the trades
  15. Being 15, and a teenager in todays world, if my friends found out I "play" with little cars I'd get laughed at. Only my close friends who come hangout at my house know I build models and they don't really care, they know I'm into cars and drag racing so they think it's just part of what I do. Besides them, nobody knows about my model building, its like living life in the witness protection program, I keep it all under wraps because I don't want to have to deal with that. Yeah I shouldn't really care about what people think, but being a kid in todays world is much different, every body judges each other and bullies are everywhere. It's just part of being a kid in today's world.
  16. True, although it's probably the closest clone in existence, the car was basically torn apart and gutted then rebuilt by the dealership matching everything that a true 95 cobra R had to a T. Although I was only 6 or 7 when I remember being in the car. I do remember that it was an animal on the street. They are neat cars for sure, I think they looked quite a bit better style wise than the new mustangs, but I'm a rather old school teenager so that doesn't mean a thing By the way, thanks for the information, I'm not much into Fords but learning something new is never a bad thing.
  17. Edit: I talked to my dad and he told me that at the dealership they took a black cobra and turned it into a cobra R. The dealership ordered everything to convert it over from the factory so being dealership made, it's still technically a cobra R. It's the only black 1995 cobra R in existence, and the only automatic cobra R in existence.
  18. Fred, I agree with Tyrone, I love this thing, keep posting updates
  19. My mom had a black 95 cobra R, she drove the wheels off of it. Luckily, we sold it before the tranny took a dump. ( keep in mind we told the buyer it would need a tranny in a few hundred miles, not telling him that would be a pretty low thing to do)
  20. Outstanding craftsmanship Fred, I envy your work
  21. This is cool stan!, I'll be following along.
  22. This should be very cool, Vegas were in production 1971-1977 though. I'll be watching this, it will be interesting to see how you create the GT emblems, wheels, grille, etc. No matter what it is, I can take reference pictures of my '71 vega panel delivery that is bone stock except for the drivetrain and wheels, anything you need I can get. Of course because it's a panel it isn't a GT but GT's aren't too different.
