My dad's car is round tube chassis from the front subframe back, the car was built back in the early 2000's when outlaw 10.5 still was running 8's. The rules said it must have the original chassis from firewall forward so that's the reason it isn't a full round tube, I took some pictures of the engine bay but I feel my vega panel which is a full tube chassis car would be slightly more helpful chassis wise. It is square tube rails with mustang 2 front suspension. I've included some pictures of both cars. Anything else you need feel free to ask! The first three are of my panel, if you'd like some interior pictures of that I can take some, it will be very different being that it isn't a hatch like what you're building
-
What kind of pictures would help the most? Thank you for the information on what you purchased it for, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a kit, my dad would flip out if I built a replica of his car.
-
Stan, I'm sure this will turn out like all of your past builds, absolutely phenomenal! I'm a complete vega nut, (15 and have already owned 3) if I could find and afford a 71-73 promo I'd buy it in a heartbeat, not to hijack the thread, but if you paint it red it might end up turning out like my old mans outlaw 10.5 '72 vega Also, If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay to get that thing? By the way, if you need any reference photos no matter what it is, there's three Vegas sitting in the shop that I take reference photos of. Two chassis cars and a 90% original panel delivery with a SBC/th350/9" but everything else is stock

Here's two updated photos I took outside, this better shows the natural color of the paint

Thank you Tyrone! Niko, it sucks because I used to take photos on top of my Hottub cover, we cut the tub up because the thing was 20 years old and leaking like a siv, so I have no good outdoor places, here's a couple that came out okay, -
What did you see on the road today?
Dragfreak replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It was hard to get a good picture of it, but this excursion had been completely decked out at their local shucks. It had all of the stick on vents and hood scoops, It was on my way to Redding California. And then in the parking lot of waterworks park in redding, I saw this Tacoma with roadkill style master lock door locks -
Thank you Bradley!

I got one step closer to getting my race car back on the track, my dad turned me on to a friend of his who had the driver side dipstick, kickout, small block Chevy oil pan I despearately needed. For $60 I got the pan, high volume pump/pickup, and the windage tray. The pan isn't in great shape but saving 60 bucks is worth it. I cleaned it up and got it down to bare metal then shot some Chevrolet engine orange on it. Before and after

Anything? -
After algebra 2 they ship you off to analysis, I have no idea what concepts they're teaching in there. Most teachers at my high school could care less about their kids, they just cram the daily math lesson in and assign homework then hangout at their desk on the computer. Last year my math teacher wondered why nobody liked him and two people in the class passed. (Fortunately I was one of the two).
-
Seriously though, the methods of teaching math these days is horrible, I'm a sophomore in analysis (2 grades above my peers) yet I've never been taught to balance a checkbook, haven't been taught percents (I kind of self taught it) and just very simple everyday math principles they don't teach these days. It's sad to see

Does anybody make a nice 4" or so resin cowl hood that will fit the revell/monogram kits? Lex's scale modeling has one but the last hood I got from him was 2x too thick, I'm hesitant to order from him again
-
They'd make a lot of money if they reissued the vega kit, mostly from me

Maybe a smaller wing like the Ed Quay ones would look good, I think a little sheet styrene and one could be fabbed up pretty easily. Just an idea BTW, the front spoiler looks fantastic! -
The slicks are NASCAR tires that I sanded the eagle lettering off, they are one of my favorites slicks I've ever had as they are very close to a 9" slick or so. I used the base LX kit for this, I wish I had the cowl hood out of the drag kit though.

Thank you Danno, I like the burnt orange color but this is just a tad light for me. I still think it looks great It's definitely not a daily driver, but a pretty bad N/A 302 wouldn't be too bad driving around on the streetonce in a while, it would eat the valvetrain pretty fast. A deep pocket would be required for sure

Use what you have and try finding some resin parts to complete everything you need for a pro mod Hemi, that would be quite a bit cheaper!
