  1. I'm really liking the looks of this thing
  2. Where did you get the radials from
  3. Thanks Brian! Thank you Stan, I'm pretty happy with the look too, me and painting don't get along too well so this was nice for a change.
  4. Thanks Fred, after the disaster with black I found this stuff and I absolutely love it! It layed down so smooth, no orange peel at all, just a little smoothing and polishing after I get a can of clear for it possibly tomorrow.
  5. That looks to be a 71/2, with a built small block, I bet it was a mid to low 10 second car. I just got my hands on a deal of my lifetime, a good friend from my local track who is almost like my grandpa is selling his 71 panel with a fiberglass 76/7 front clip to me as a roller for $5,000. With the 427 that he had in it it was a low 9 second car. It's probably worth $10,000 as a roller so I'm totally stealing this thing, when I cough up the last bit of money to buy it I'll stuff the motor and tranny from my current vega in the new one and put a stock small block in the old one. With the motor and tranny from my vega in the new one it should be a mid 10 second car as well as be consistent. I'll bracket race it on Friday nights in the high school class for the next 3 years.
  6. You ought to scratch build a tube chassis for the willys, that paint looks great
  7. That's really neat!
  8. I got it painted and decided to mock it up, what do think?
  9. I haven't mastered a gloss black paint job yet from the looks of how it came out so I stripped the black and did a test shot of some plasticoat Nissan orange we had for painting the grill inserts on our 1 ton Chevy pickup. It layed down really nice besides the nice speck of dust that landed on it I got the body drying in primer as of now.
  10. Very nice Niko, Good luck in your racing season, your chevelle's doing a little G body shuffle on the launch, Looks like fun! I really need to get a cage and sub-frame connectors in my vega so I can start racing it.
  11. Nice work removing the exhaust, I know how fun that is!
  12. Thanks everybody, I made the headers in about 10 minutes to just see how something like that would fit and what id have to do to make them fit, if I decide to go with a BBC then I'll have to do forward facing headers. Not sure if I'll go with the tunnel ram, single dominator on a single plane intake with maybe some nitrous or possibly, but probably not, put a supercharger on it.
  13. Anybody else thinking what I'm thinking?
  14. I got a slight update, had some testors gloss black laying around so I decided to test spray it on the hood, I'll let it dry then sand it and clear it to see how it come out, I also got another primer coat on the rest of the cage drying right now as well as paint the radiator
  15. It looks better every time you post an update Tyrone, if you don't mind, what do you use and how do you apply the black to the edges of the windows? I haven't built anything new before that has it, only muscle cars and some rail dragsters which neither have.
  16. Absolutely stunning build!
  17. Where did the wheels come from?
  18. Thank you Scott, maybe one day I'll be building immaculate builds like yours!
  19. Thank you Robert, it's taken me a while to get where I'm at and I'm having a lot of fun with this hobby! Here's a slight update, the cage is finished
  20. Very clean build
  21. I went looking through my stash of rod and found a full bag #222 .062 rod in there....DOH
