  1. Can anyone tell me where the coil is located on a 1970 Dodge Challenger with a 340?
  2. Great looking model Mick! Is that an aftermarket dash, and what did you use for the windshield tear off?
  3. Three questions: 1. does anyone know of a tutorial on how to install A/N compression fittings and braided wire? 2. which is better/easier to use protech or detail master? 3. how do you make the 90 degree fittings? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I am building a Darrel Waltrip Craftsman truck and I have cut out the window net and would like to drape it on the inside of the truck. I saw that Detail Master made at one time a photo etched net, but I can't seem to find one (everyone is out of stock or they quit making it). I was wondering what all of you guys do that display them on the outside or the inside of the truck. Are you using the original, making your own out of surgical tape, or using a photetch?
  5. I am using MCG calipers and rotors for the first time on a car and I can not figure out how everything attaches to the axle. Now that I am not using the kit "drum" that snaps into the back of the tire how do I attach the rim to the axle without the use of lugnuts, and what do I use to fill that gap in the back of the tire where the drum used to be. I normally build box stock, and have never attempted this so please excuse my stupidity.
  6. I am getting ready to start a 1996 Craftsman Truck Series truck and would like to get the chassis correct. I am using a Monogram #1 Die Hard Chevy as the base. I have seen chassis' from later trucks (2004) and they look quite a bit different from the Monogram version. If anyone knows of some good photos or magazines articles on-line I would sure appreciate the help.
  7. Matt: I would love to see some interior and chassis pictures. I am currently building the DW #11 Mountain Dew with Wet Works decals straight out of the box ansd would love to see how you detailed the interior and chassis. Thanks for showing a great looking build. Did you use decals for the tire lettering or did you paint them?
  8. I live in AZ and got mine last Wednesday. A great issue, thank you to Gregg and all who contributed. Got my OTHER car model magazine last Friday and it is horrible in comparison by size, content, and useful in information. I've been a subscriber for many years and am totally thrilled to hear MCM is going to 12 issues a year. If they are all like the latest issue I might have to find more time to build more than two or three cars a year. Thanks again for a great issue.
  9. Has anyone used the Crazy Modeler photoetch parts for the Tamiya Ferrari F50? I have never used them but picked up a set and I am not sure from the pictures just how the brakes are made. I can't figure out what, if anything, is used to make the calipers. Also what are parts 30,34,35,and 36 used for? I'm a PE newbie so any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. stupid question Gregg-do I spray the dull coat on before trying to rub on the dry transfer?
  11. I know this has been covered hundreds of times but.... I installed some PE parts on a Tamiya Ferrari Mythos with clear enamel (brushed on) and was not happy with the results. What is the best way to install PE so that it doesn't mess up a good paint job. Also I can't seem to get dry tire transfers to transfer onto the tires to save my soul. I seem to be PE and dry transfer impaired, any suggestions would be helpful
  12. I have a decal that is over another decal. The decal on top is lifting up on one of the edges and I would like to get it back in place before it gets any worse. My question is what should I use to get the decal to set back down?
  13. hey gary: first off, I'm sorry your brother lives here, second - they are opening a Big Lots here in a couple of weeks. I will try there, if not I will get a hold of you again. Thanks for the info
  14. Does any one know who makes individual display cases for the old 1/16th scale FED's? It needs to be about 16" long.
  15. Does anyone out there know what happened to the Copperstate Model Car Championship in Phoenix? I didn't here of one in 2006 and haven't heard of one for this year. It has always been a great show and very well run, I hate to see it go if its not around.
