Some real bad drivers,worth watching..
CJ1971 replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't think bad driving/bad drivers are, or can be, isolated to just Russia. I'm quite sure there are many countries, including the USA, any 3rd world country, some of which have NO road laws/rules whatsoever. I guess we don't see as much of those as there actually are because people in those countries can't afford luxurious items such as dash-cams. ? -
Your usual high standard Sven... Love your Mopars ??? Cliff

No one hurt?? I'd say there were quite a few injuries resulting from a lot of those "mishaps". I've seen this before, it's all over the web, along with many, many, many more of the same. I note that a lot of the accidents in this particular compilation were caused by pedestrians & people driving like imbeciles in snowy weather. It never ceases to amaze me why? people walk out into heavy traffic thinking they're indestructible... ?? I guess some people are born with the "extra-stupid" gene... ?? -

Just stumbled upon this thread... Have to say... This is the most insane psychedelic paint job I've EVER seen! Like nearly everyone else, it blows me away! ???? You sir are an Artist, not a model car builder! Warhol & Picasso would be proud! ?? As for your quandary about the chrome strip... I'd have to agree that since it's a replica you'd have to go with the strip. It's a pity it's there on the 1:1 & they should've left it off but since they didn't... ? I don't think having exact/replica tyres are as big a deal as the chrome strip. Tyres are changed over the years ( 1:1 ) & it's much more realistic & forgivable ( contest-wise ) if the tyres weren't exactly the same, period correct tyres would be fine ?? Keep up the amazing work Briz' ?? Cheers Cliff

Best Father's Day present ever?
CJ1971 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sure it's rare & sure it's valuable ... But... If you categorise it in the same league as 1 of today's super cars like a Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari La Ferrari, Pagani, Aston Martin 1-77 etc, which are all rare & expensive cars, that are driven by their millionaire/billionaire owners, is it any more valuable or less drivable? I know if I had the cold hard cash to buy it I'd drive it... Not everyday but maybe once a month or so.... ? Because I doubt once I had it I'd ever sell it.... ? Money not being an option I'd buy another 'Cuda & have it cloned to the real numbers matching 'vert, exactly, & make the replica/clone the daily/weekly driver... & I could say ( to anyone that asked ) that I have the REAL one back in my garage ??? -
Just be prepared to spend around $100 for a good, unopened kit ??

Kris... Practice ... Practice... Practice & lots of patience mate! Lol! I have the Tamiya & Aoshima BRZ/86... When compared, in honest opinion... Aoshima is winner ? For now finish your oranges inspired BRZ & let's see what you want to build next huh? ??? Cheers Cliff

Jo-Han are the only ones available, of this kit, Jules ? I'm also thinking about getting 1... ?

Scott, personally I don't know of any effects, with contouring & the setting solution, because I've never had to do the clear coating on any decals I've used in the past. ? But I know there's quite a few guys that do. As for Future... I know of it, as many guys here use it, but I couldn't comment on it's wear/tear/sturdiness etc because I've never used it. Quite happy with using BASF Glasurit Auto 2-pack that I have ?? Hopefully someone else can provide the information you seek regarding contouring/setting solution issues ( if any? ) Cliff
-
Thanks ? If I were you I'd pick up the Aoshima version/s of the BRZ/86... Way more accurate & the latest versions come with full engine detail ??
-
I'm assuming you can use a spray can... I don't use cans I use my a/b. I don't know what this Future Floor wax stuff is, so you'll have to ask someone with knowledge of it. You are clear coating 1 side of the decal... Not both ? You can't spray the side that gets put on the body etc.... Ahhhhh..... ? Lol
-
Ok cool... Now I know what you mean ?? If you want to do the wheels in flat black... Go ahead! ? I have a WRX 2008 on my bench in very similar colour scheme & using Aoshima 20in 2-piece rims. Centres are dark titanium with the rings orange... Same colour as body. So yes black/orange works as a paint scheme ?? See.... Cliff

Look DANNO, No flag .

That's it! Monaco! After all the Monacos were used as cop cars back in the day as Chargers are used now... Monaco would've been the perfect name! ?? & then there wouldn't be this debate over it being a Charger or not. -
Scott... It's really only necessary if you think the decals you want to use are fragile/old. If you clear coat them first ( acrylic or lacquer ) thinly, this coating will strengthen them & less chance of breakage ??
-
I do the exact same thing, Jules. Put all my good sheets in a folder with plastic sheets & in a good safe Tupperware box, in a nice cool draw. Never sees sunlight. What you need to remember though is, technology has come a long way & with that so had quality. Today's decals are much more resilient & far better quality than previous years/kits decal sheets. If you're using old stock it's probably a good idea to lightly clear coat them first ?? Cheers Cliff

I'm with ya there Harry... No Charger should have 4 doors ? I will admit though, the new 2015? Chargers are pretty good looking ? Maybe they should've called it something else rather than a Charger. Coronet maybe?? -

You're not saying 70 Chargers are ugly, are you Harry? ? Lol -
You're confusing me a bit mate... If you're going to clear-coat the body ( gloss clear ) then why did you already fit the windows/headlight/tail lights, or are they just temporarily fitted? What do you want to paint flat black?? Could you be a little more specific? Cheers
-
I thought as much ? So you're keeping this 1 flat - matte coloured, no gloss?
