  1. Amen! That tank *^$%@#& rocks!
  2. A hole in a bank . Then I could crank up my lifestyle. Actually, though, I might try doing a Predictor like the one in my sig.
  3. Actually, George, we're in southeast Michigan (unless the world just tilted on its axis...).
  4. Harry, isn't that the old Pyro kit? . How much Tenax, Zap-A-Gap and Zip-Kicker do you need for that?
  5. I'm having the same dilemma with the two-toning on my F-150. I have the paint on (green w/ silver). I'm thinking of cutting a few strips of BMF .001" wide and painting them, then applying the stripes that way, then protecting it with a clearcoat. I'll let you know how this works out in a few days.
  6. Wow! Talk about bringing something back from the grave . Great save.

Great work. It looks almost like the box art illustration on the early '70's issue.
  8. I recently used Dupli-Color clear over Tamiya Black Metallic on a '97 F-150 with no ill effects. Actually, since I didn't have much left in the can, everything was basecoated with Dupli-Color Universal Black, and after laying on the Tamiya paint, I shot the lower body with Dupli-Color Desert Tan.
  9. I like the mags, but with street tires. The Chargers of this generation look like they were designed around a set of Cragar SS's.
  10. "Yup, they're on their way and according to my boys, they're all on reckless driving charges already." "It stalled, Benji- we got dust in the carburetor!" "Take the wheel, give me the map!" All my quotes are from the same flick......
  11. I have a stack of old SAE's going back to the late '90's, along with the Car Modeler annuals and everything with Juha's work is dog- eared and drool- stained. I swear that man has a shrinking ray that he uses to convert 1:1 to 1:25. If only I were a quarter as good...
  12. Don't give up on the forum....heck, I entered a contest back in March and my '69 T-Bird and '97 F-150 Flareside were virtually ignored. Politics and who you know play a big role in situations such as that, so stick around.
  13. Great news on the remission- that means we'll all be able to annoy you inperpetuity .
  14. Sweet build, and the details are great. Looks like a Michigan car after several years of crappy winters. My suggestion for the panel lines is to mix complements, in this case, blue and orange with a hint of black. I use a lot of acrylics, so I can thin the mixture with water and flow it in. Just make sure its dry before you lay on any clear.
  15. UM-Flint has up (down?)graded to Vista for their OS, and the thing is a freakin' nightmare to use. Everything about it seems counterintuative, as though they were making changes for changes sake. Watching a prof try to run a powerpoint slideshow on this setup is to watch someone come close to a nervous breakdown. I get a kick out of that Microsoft ad where they have 'real' people saying how wonderful and fun Vista is. I'd like to give these folks a Rorsarch test and some shock therapy.....
  16. "So he goes all the way to Plaster City. I don't know about you, but I'm turning this thing around. You want to catch him, you get out and run!" "This is no place for a convertible!"
  17. Great detail work on the engine and interior, Kev. However, you might want to think about updating to at least CD's for the sounds . Cool stuff.
  18. "Did you see the way he went sailing right out there? He just sailed right out there." "Its terrible- he must have been doing over 80." "An ambulance- we better call an ambulance." "Oh, look at that car!"
  19. I have a whole bunch of "Police Line- Do Not Cross" tape the police left behind after they had to block off W. Court Street last year after Consumers had to replace a pole that someone wiped out with his Caddy. Last Halloween, I strung some around my porch where I had drawn a life- sized stick figure with chalk. Then during the night, some miscreant stole the tape.
  20. Welcome aboard the short bus . I get most of my paint at Meijer's (Duplicolor paints, Bondo and sandpapers). For kits, its either Rider's in Flint, or Dean's in Flushing (Mi.).
  21. This points up the problem (at least one of them) with the direction of automotive design over the last ten or so years. Edge Design (there's an oxymoron). What a horrid, tasteless direction to go in. From the Cadillac CTS to the Ford (con) Fusion, all anyone wants to crank out are variations of Origami-on-acid ugliness. There has been a total loss of proportion. Now we have tall cowls, thick body sections, too-short roofs (think 300) and cars designed around oversized tires. We used to call the '71- '73 Mustangs "Muspigs" because they were so fat and heavy, but the new Mustang is bigger still, and looks like a caricature of the 'Stang (as did the unlamented Mustang II). The G6 is a stylistic nightmare, though not on the same Tremen- Induced Nightmare scale as the A$$calade or the New CTS (or whatever they call that mess now). To me. (dr)Edge design has created garbage that looks like it was stolen from the set of "Judge Dredd". As for the thick A-pillars, you need to experience a Dodge Caliber and the major blind spots they create. OK, I'm done ranting for now...
  22. Well, evilone, the Lincoln in the vid is a '69 (the last year for the unitized, suicide door car). Have you considered a '64- '66 Imperial? Or maybe the Model King '59 Imperial? Maybe a '58- '60 Lincoln would fit the bill.
  23. What they said- its a great kit (and the tooling isn't junked out) with the caveat being the incorrect interior. So for mine, the story goes like this- it was a '65 that needed a front clip, rear bumper and tailights and the donor car was a '66. BTW, the road test equipment is in the '65 GP kit.
  24. When we were kids, my older brother got the Visible V-8 for Christmas. He took almost all of Christmas vacation carefully assembling it, and when it was finished, he had a nice, working replica. However, he decided it just wasn't fast enough with the little electric motor and C-cell batteries. Soooo...he hooked the electric motor to an old electrical cord and plugged it in. The results were dramatic- that motor was pushing some RPM's for about five minutes. That's when a rod shot through the right side valve cover and the motor siezed. At the same time, that electric motor fried out, and our room smelled like ozone for the rest of the day. But wow, what a show.
  25. Let's see here- my college career (kind of like a hobby, plus they loan me money), photography, drawing, Command & Conquer, GT4, Pearls Before Swine, Tornado Jockey on my PC, my dog, reading, music and election coverage (every four years for me is like a year- long Christmas). Harry, if you want a real thrill, try underwater basket weaving .
