Thanks again for the comments guys. Unclescott, sorry to hear about your dad. I bet he would have loved to see that model. Those 61 Comets are pretty cool looking cars. Gary, cool story about your Comet those were the days. I'm glad I tried a few new tricks on this build. I totally agree with you about new cars as my daily drivers are 1983 and 1995 fords. When I drive the 83 it feels like being a kid again. Here are a few pics, first is dads 64 Comet when he bought it and how it sits now. The 65 Comet is his other car and when Moebius's 1965 Comet model comes out I will build one of that car as well.

Thanks for the comments guys. He's not a very emotional guy but I think he is going to like it. Thanks for the invite Charlie, it's hard for me to get alot of free time but i'd like to check it out. I've been to the Masscar show and there are always alot of great builds to check out.

I just finished this one to give to my father. It's built just the way he wants to build his real Comet. Maybe this will be motivation to get back on his. I tried a few new details for me on this one such as blackwashing, adding an antenna, darker panel lines and bmf on emblems before painting. I also scribbed panel lines at the bottoms of the fenders and tops along cowl. Painted Peacock Blue with wheels and tires from Revell's 32 Ford five window. Thanks for looking.........Jay

Thanks for the comments . Wish I had the real thing in my garage.

Thanks guys for all the cool replies. It's my only hot rod build to date but so many ideas for so many projects and very little time.

The outdoor shots really make the car look 1/1 scale. Your builds are making me pay closer attetion to the little things on all my builds and I can see a difference. Thank you.

I wonder how long the light bar and spotlights would last going down the strip? Seriously, you did an outstanding job building it.

Was not what I expected to see when I clicked on the topic but I think it's awesome. Looked at it several times to get all the details. Great job on the weathering.

Thanks for the comments everybody. Glad you like it.

Thanks for comments guys. It's actually a very light grey Tamiya military color. Bad lighting and Ipad camera make for lousy pictures. One of these days i'll buy a decent camera.

I always liked the traditional looking hot rods. This is Revell's 32 that I chopped the top on. Used masking tape for roof insert and to cover cut when roof had to be stretched. Also cut front frame horns off because I think it looks cleaner. Used the 392 hemi from kit but added various engine parts from AMT's double dragster kit. Headers are from Ohio George 33 Willys. AMT tires up front and old AMT slicks on rear. Thanks for looking....Jay.

Awesome model as usual.

I totally agree with you on the flip nose. It was the first part I looked at and was disappointed by the shape of the tops of the fenders. Good job on reshapping the drivers side.

Glad to see it's an AMT and not a Trumpeter.

Good looking build. I think the old tooled kits seem more accurate as far as body proportions than most new kits these days.

All those kits will be in my stash with multiple Comets and Satellites. Thank you Moebius keep them coming.
