  1. cats... um, hiney
  2. Pat, I searched all over for info on pearl ex... thank you! This article would make a good sticky
  3. On the topic of tires, these links might be helpful: http://www.sspmustang.org/parts/wheels.htm http://blog.latemodelrestoration.com/mustang-tire-restoration-product/ http://www.triplewhitefox.com/mustang/1993-feature-mustang-faq#Wheels1 Chuck you were right about the stock sizing. I might have confused it with the GM F-bodies from that era. The actual tire brand varied I guess based on what they had.
  4. No worries... still a killer motor. I have seen quite a few healthy 2v in hot rods and old Mustangs over the years.
  5. Not sure what you mean by not quite "gatorback" territory. The stockers that were on these cars where Eagle VR60's (gatorbacks). They would be the correct tire for the LX 10 holes and the GT Turbines. In 91 I beleive they wheels changed to the 16" pony style which came with 235/55/ZR16 Goodyears GSC's. 91-93 have a slightly bigger wheel well house for the larger (wider wheels)
  6. I have a corver curio cabinet that sit in the corner of my t.v. room. It was purchased on sale from a major furniture chain here in Hampton Roads years ago. Being the fact it is a corner unti it doesn't impeded too much on floor space. It has a oak finish and is nicely lighted from the top with glass shelves and a mirrored back that makes it look like I have way more models built that I actually do. It keeps the models pretty dust free. The biggest downside is the lamp at the top does generate a little heat as it did warp a hood on a old MPC Tran Am I built. So the hard lesson learned there was to keep models out of the direct radiated light on the top shelf, and also as an extra precautionary measure the few die casts that I do have (they were gifts) reside on that top shelf.
  7. The lightning motor is a 2 valve motor not a 4 valve
  8. If Ray Charles were still alive even he could tell how hideous this is
  9. Are these only available on evilbay? I went to Pegasus Hobby's web site and none of the new styles are listed.
  10. I was going to say... first? You must be an IPMS guy venturing over into the car world. Very nice
  11. The trim looks straight in that picture... I kid, I kid. Seriously looks like a good start.
  12. Supercharged... RM Shelby GT500, naturally aspirated I would thing the RM 2001 Mustang Cobra. The AMT 32 Vickie engine is ok but the details to me seem a little soft.
  13. There are some pretty major differences here. The hood is very different between a 2004 Mach 1 and a 99-01 Cobra. The Cobra has a reverse scallop faux heat extractor that is recessed, where the Mach 1 has a domed hood similar to the 03-04 cobra to clear the shaker scoop. That and the front bumper lower valance is drastically different. The Cobra has gill type fog light opening and flares up higher. The Mach 1 has the GT front bumber valence. As for the wheels I imagine you could use something like Pegasus tires with the spun aluminum wheel barrels (sleeves I think they are called) with a Magnum 500 wheel which would give the look but still would be a little deep compared to the shallow factory Ford rim on the Mach 1. I have pictures but I do not have a Photo Bucket account. Not sure how to post them otherwise Edit... I bothers me that there have been so many great Mustangs in the past 10 years and just a few have been kitted. Wish they consider modifying the tool for the 99-01 style Cobra to a Terminator 03-04, and a Mach 1. Also waiting on the "new" (since 2011) 5.0 in kit form, maybe even a Boss 302.
  14. The book was made by a company called Jaguars that run... which got their start doing small block swaps in Jags. Helped a friend a while back that swapped a vortec 350 into a 95
  15. I have used the regular DM wire before. It most likely scales out right, but it looks thin visually (thinner than thread). I think part of the job is scaling close and fooling the minds eye.
  16. http://www.tcsdcc.com/Tools_and_Supplies/32%20gauge%20wire.htm 36 gauge would scale out right... the 30 gauge I normally would use scales out to 16.5mm. A little bit big, close to double the size of a 8.8mm 1:1 wire
  17. V8 drops right in if you notch the radiator core support 2 inches in 1:1. Truck looks good!
  18. Demon Camber... sucks in real driving situations, but looks cool in most case. Love the Worx wheels
  19. I just did some searching. The pearl powder cannot be mixed with a base, only the clear.
  20. I am wondering how these Folk Art paints would mix with Pearl Ex powders... pearl and flake would make for some pretty wild 60's style paneling jobs
  21. I use a old multi tiered computer desk. If I got creative I could add some small shelves for paints and tools. The bad part is the top shelf is my R.C. stuff and the main shelf is my modeling surface.
  22. I use large shoe boxes lined with microfiber towels. I wrap the cars with a micro fiber towel and gently pack into the box.
  23. not having the ability to leave well enough alone. Being such a perfectionist that I end updoing things over multiple times. Makes a project drag
  24. Different, it's starting to look like a car from the stanceworks page. The BBS RS's, heavy negative camber and the stretched rubber complete the look. Nice!
