  1. i know what your saying! i have 5 builds going right now. nearly wipes you out witch one to work on.
  2. she looks like a simple old farm truck you would see hooked to a hopper bottom trailer. very nice!
  3. Started this truck as a side project and it transformed to this. Cut down the cab and extended the rear of the frame rails for a good start. The left over cab will be used for a future build. Pretty much straight forward build. Comments always welcomed.
  4. i've seen some insane detail on models before, but you my friend are a true master......wow , can not wait to see more!
  5. i may be mistaken, but the wheels in the ertl IH dump truck look to be close to the wheels on that kw
  6. i found by using the scratch protectors that you would put on your cell phone work great. they cut easy and are flexable. and with the rest of the hog wash, if we cant teach and learn from each other this hobby wouldnt be nearly as popular as it is. trust me , i will hack and cut any kit no matter the cost to fix its short comings, and explain why and how i did it....................keep up the great work. john
  7. looks like a truck evil kenevil would have had in the day
  8. looks good to me, just think how it would look with a trailer load of restored model cars??
  9. lookin good! it reminds me of a company truck that used to pull a stainless chemical tank. just cant remember the name, although they were dark blue and grey,,keep up the good work.
  10. i'll need to fine tune, fill and just tidy things up so it looks nice. trying to figure out how to route things and make it look functional was a chore. may do some extra tweeking before its done.........
  11. Done some piping, looks kind of crude but everything is just tacked into place .I have to take it apart now to paint.
  12. yeah the cab set on the rear mounts as it did before,if you notice in the pic with the #1 suck tube the elbow sits kind of sideways, this made clearance plus a straight shot to the right breather can,got lucky there, snaking to the left is yet to be figured out......thanks john
  13. yep, stripes are from the pete kit, had to cut them to fit and used a ton of solvaset
  14. Just a small update, split the manifolds and staggered the turbos for clearance.mocked up air and exsaust, believe it or not, installed interior bucket and cab still functions as normal.
  15. thanks, like jesse was saying, this motor never exsisted so i'm flying by the seat of my pants on the intake, exsaust and all around setup of this. tell you what ,you really test your trail and error patients doing this,so i'm greatful for the extra input.........john
  16. almost parade ready, I like it
  17. i'm glad to see and read the support of this project because it's driving me crazy! just came upstairs from my bunker after splitting the manifolds (made up two new ones). now I'm going to set back with a cup of coffee and plan out the wrap around exsaust from #1 turbo to the left stack......thanks guys! john
  18. thanks for the input, until you pointed that out and I looked at the pics again, your absolutely right. the exsaust sides of the turbo would be pushing against each other therefore cancelling each other out, or in other terms giving the driver an exam via through the floorboard with a cylinder head if you catch my drift. back to carving board!
  19. Done some work to the motor, would it be functional in real life? Don't know, but it looks good! Your input is always welcome....
  20. thanks, just had to do something differnt
  21. Haven't posted anything for a while due to building block. Well here's what I came up with, the motor for this was kind of blah , so out it came, and this is what I came up with..a straight eight, twin turbo Cummins! Thought it would be kind of cool, how to run exsaust and air? Don't know yet,but i'm on a mission.
  22. this is going to neat truck. my grandfather used to drive one. I like the mechanic, it just adds that story line aspect to the project.
  23. Sean, just thought of something that I haven't seen anyone one do with a bj and the bear truck, now don't start cussin' yet this is easy! don't forget the childs car seat that bear sat in..... john
  24. With the decals set,its time to start on the down hill side. Wheels and tires on,fenders mocked into position as well as one of the tanks.the visor ,if you notice has got pins sticking out from the sides,I done this to hold it in one place while the glue dries.nothing worse than parts sliding over your finish.
  25. that's very cool JT, since your in texas do you remember the company 'Tigator' that was running down there in late 80's early 90's. that's all they had was orange large cars?
