    29 Roadster

I like you fuel block setup, very similar the what Shelby ran on his Weber feed 289s
  3. I was pretty sure your weren't finished. I'll follow along quietly.
  4. I like it. I might add a bar in front of the rear axle with a bump up over the drive shaft.
  5. It’s a lot like the 1:1 car hobby with the over restored cars. "That car can’t be best in show it has the wrong hose clamps." Thankfully the 1:1 guys are starting to recognize original cars more and more.
  6. I disagree that's a good thing for the hobby. When the contest or magazine standard becomes 1:1 automotive finishes applied through $800-$1000 spray rigs I think it has gone too far.
  7. I appreciate that Dann and agree that the sheen of the finish should be more to scale but it’s not just about me. A lot of builders stop showing their projects or worst quit building because we have all been conditioned that unless the paint is miles deep it’s an inferior build. Modeling magazines have helped drive this narrative. What makes the cover or what wins the awards - the glossiest build.
  8. That is my underlying point – who decided that only models with layers of highly polished clear are worthy of notice? I have been contemplating lately leaving my builds in primer to force people to look beyond the paint finish.
  9. Can we admit that model building is all about the paint finish? If you are at a show or even on the forum if the build doesn’t meet the paint standard we quickly move on. Only if the paint meets the ideal do we delve any deeper into examining the other details of the build – right?
  10. The kit you are building is part Fujimi's "Enthusiast Series" so by definition you would expect more detail. If you can believe it I added parts to the last Fujimi 911 engine I built. I am firmly in the more detail camp and if that means more parts so be it. However not every kits need to be enthusiast caliber to be a great kit. Fidelity, execution and engineering of the kit is far more important than total part count.
  11. I believe this is the fuel cell, hard to tell the color.
  12. I voted for the '67/'68 Mustang myself Ron.
  13. '68 Camaro - lip re-rolled '69 Camaro - reshaped fender panel '70 Camaro - reshaped fender panels
  14. Here are a few examples of the fender flares and reshaping I mentioned earlier. '68 AMX - lip re-rolled '69 Javelin - fender flare '70 Javelin - reshaped fender panels.
  15. Nice job Bill. If you build another I would remove the flat lip around the rear wheel opening to give a little more clearance for the slicks. That's what was done on the Dragonsnakes.
  16. This is a great little project.

    Datsun 240z

    Really nice Mika.
  18. Thanks Maxx & Ray. We have color. We'll see how well it rubs out in a few days. Fingers crossed.
  19. Red Bull Racing RB13 http://www.redbullracing.com/en_US
  20. Toro Rosso STR12 My favorite!
  21. I think the ads are causing all the issues. I don't know what ads are currently trying to run but I can't type anything while they are spooling.
  22. A '67 notchback Mustang has never been kitted to my knowledge. The '67 and '68 Cougar where only issued once IIRC. A proper '69 Mustang would certainly be welcomed as would a '69 or '70 Javelin. The '67/'68 Camaro and a '70 Mustang make the least sense.
