  1. Looks good Ray. Holman Moody did participate with the Cobras to some degree so good choice in picking the race team.
  2. Seems we needed a new topic to cover this kit so here you go.
  3. Thank you all for the kind comments and I am glad you guys enjoy the builds, I enjoy posting them. I pulled the 427 off the shelf last night to get reacquainted with it. I think that is the next one I will finish.
  4. Thanks Jesse & Eric. Here is the Cobra build collection so far.
  5. Turned out great Andy.

    57 Ford

That's darn good for your 2nd ever build.
  7. Thank you gentlemen. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
  8. That rear suspension is impressive Steve. It is so visible on the 1:1. I know your effort will be rewarded on the finished build.

    AMT Ala Kart

    Very nice Paul.
  11. Not sure how everyone is measuring their wheels, but be aware that the outside bead of a 15" wheel should measure more than 15". For instance the outside bead of the 15" wheels on my 1:1 truck actually measure 16-3/8". The outside bead on the 17" wheels on my 1:1 car actually measure 18-1/2".
  12. Could very well be Dan. I had them in my parts box so I don't know the kit source. I had to enlarge the center a bit to fit the wheels but they are correct for the Dragonsnake.
  13. Thanks Phil. The wheels are actual resin and included in the trans-kit. Typically wire wheels used in racing were not chromed, just painted silver. Chroming weakened the spokes
  14. Shelby Cobra Dragonsnake – CSX2248 “El Cid” Kit: HRM Dragonsnake Trans-kit (cast from my original master) –body, hardtop, engine, wheels and tires Base kit: AMT Cobra Engine: Ford 289 · dual intake – Revell 427 Cobra modified to fit the 289 · valve covers – Revell Shelby GT350 · coil and distributor – Replicas & Miniatures · scratch built headers and side pipes You may be more familiar with the all black version of “El Cid” which competed in ’65. I chose to model the original as delivered ’64 configuration; Princess (Viking) Blue, dark blue “small window” hardtop, dual 4V induction. I chose to install black interior in lieu of the original red for personal reasons. Also chose to install the full rear bumper in lieu of only the bumperettes. Unfortunately decals do not exist for the racing graphics. Hope you like it. Click on the pictures to see them full size. Build thread :
  15. She's finished. More pictures in the "Under Glass" section.
  16. Enjoyed trading with you to bismarck (Kevin). Hope to do so again.
  17. Don't build for the herd, build what you like and it will get noticed.
  18. Thanks Dann. Maxx, no one offers the decals so no graphics.
  19. I prefer the scoop myself. You're putting that lathe to good use.
  20. Hard top painted. Finished chassis.
  21. If the kit subject is indeed the car I posted a picture of it is not my cup of tea. However based on the stated manufacturing details I would be very interested in knowing if you have/will produce any other kits.
  22. Interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSplvdp2sL0
  23. Great build Andy. Have you decide between the injector stacks or the scoop yet?
  24. $25,000!! I think you could build a 1:1 clone for that much.
