  1. The rear splash pan was far to deep to my eye, so I shortened it up quite a bit. And thankfully Revell numbered the body so we would not get it confused with the other parts. It's part #39 in case your building along. .
  2. After cleanup here is the basic body. The rear bumper/tail light panel assembly is very fiddly to attach. I added extra styrene strip to give the assembly some extra bonding surface. And don't think you can just install it on the body as is. I made that mistake and the whole assembly was way crooked. Repeated filing and test fitting finally straightened everything out.
  3. No this is not a double posting, I will explain. Once I decide on a project I get a bit obsessed. So having to surrender my 914/6 GT to the resin caster was tuff. I was just to the stage where I could actually start paint and assembly! So when I saw another 914/6 kit on Ebay I pounced. Paid too much for the kit but obsession will make a man do crazy things. This build will be a street car in lieu of a race car. It’s not going to be replica stock. I want add a few extra goodies. I will attempt to add some additional detail but I am not going the length I did with the GT. And finally if this is 914/6 overkill for you guys (two ongoing post at the same time) please let me know. I don’t want to wear out my welcome.
  4. Cameron maybe it won't change but the question is would you like it to?
  5. I am taking a poll. I would propose the Model Cars section of the Forum be broken down into (2) main sections: 1. Street/Custom/Show Rods 2. Competition (all forms of racing) Each of these (2) main categories would have its own “On the Work Bench” and ‘Under Glass” section. This would mirror the Model Truck section (the truck guys have it made!). Please let me know your opinion.
  6. Russell, you could do a Porsche Race Team, with your ranchero pulling the GT on a trailer.
  7. Patrick, both builds are beautiful. Good work.
  8. So we have a category to talk about all things not model car related but there is no room for other forms of car racing?
  9. I would be very happy with grouping all the Competitions cars together. One category all things car racing. The way it is now all the other forms of racing are excluded.
  10. We finally have F1 racing back in America and hopefully soon a 2nd US Grand Prix. And lots of people do 24 hours builds during Daytona and Le Mans. There is interest.
  11. I agree. All my build have received quite a bit of traffic and they've all been race cars.
  12. We could rebel and just start posting all our other racing car builds on the NASCAR forum.
  13. We have NASCAR & Drag racing but what about all the other forms of racing? F1, Sports Cars, Trans-Am, Endurance, WRC, Touring Cars (World, British, Australian). Le Man, Dakar, DTM, heck even Indy. Pleease?
  14. Another outstanding build Curt.
  15. Thanks Mike, I was doing it correctly but apparently the forum doesn't play nice with Internet Explorer. When I tried it in Google Chrome it worked.
  16. Thanks Russell but I don't think that is where I am going with this build. Can you tell me how you add a hyperlink in the text? I have tried but I can't figure it out.
  17. Max, Yes CSX2128. I'm currently thinking Sebring '63. However the decals and stripes are a problem. I started a tread on the Cobra so it doesn't take over this thread. Here is the link.
  18. Thanks Jason.
  19. Thanks Mood. Thanks Ken.
  20. Thanks Bob. Checked out your Fotki album-very nice builds.
  21. Thanks Oscar.
  22. Thanks Simone. The plan is for it to be a trans-kit with the engine and various other parts coming for Fujimi's '73 Porsche 911 RS Rally kit. If/when it becomes available I will let you know.
  23. Jeff, That is Historic Racing Miniatures Le Man Hardtop Trans Kit. I did a thread on the build. Here is the link.
  24. Here are the final mock-up photos. I have meet with a resin caster and he likes what he sees. So you too may have a chance to build a 914-6 GT. Stay tuned.
  25. I have (at least) one more cobra in the pipeline.
