  1. Thanks Joe. Coming from you that is a huge compliment! Your Oshkosh build is one of my all time favorites!!
  2. Thanks Cato. She is definitely a monster alright! The 1:1 has up to 850hp!!
  3. Thank you Rob. Exactly the reason I went with these wheels....the kit wheels just would not cut it.
  4. Thank you guys.
  5. So I bought the GT500 from Hobby Lobby like many others did here (40% off coupon.) Just could not bring myself to build it box stock. Sooooo the picture search began and I settled on the Super Snake. The first order of business was to find a set of wheels.......like many here I found this to be quite difficult. I found that the R/C world had more to offer than anything so I purchased the wheels below which look pretty similar to the originals (or close enough for the lack of choices out there.) On to the hood! 12 hours later of cutting, filling, sanding, filling, sanding, priming, !!! ??!! Finally got the hood ready for paint. Here's some progress shots so far.... Some wheel mockups...... Car WILL look like this.
  6. Thanks Jim! Thanks Jake, I was trying so hard to replicate Jetstream blue (which is a very difficult color!!) As for the wheels, really was going to leave them chrome but it looked like something was missing.....a quick search of the rim style found almost every time it was gold.
  7. Thank you for the kind words guys. On to my next build......it will be in the Big Boyz. I am building a 1/12 scale GT500 Super Snake. (hood is done already)
  8. Hey guys just finished this one last night. The color is Testors custom Metallic Blue (decanted and airbrushed) over HOK Planet Green Base then hand rubbed to a shine with Liquid Glass. Roof decals are Scale Motorsport Twill weave.
  9. WOW Mark! That is a beautiful build. Love the 959 and in yellow it is that much better. I have this car in 1/16 from Fujimi completely untouched so far. Cant wait to buid it now after seeing this. Great job!
  10. Wow Gary. The engine looks great! Could not believe all the work you put into the doors too. I just started my 1/12 GT500......I am going to make it into the Super Snake. I already have the hood done (14 hours worth of work!) I'll be starting my own thread on that soon. Great job Gary!
  11. Derek this is a masterpiece, it will no doubt bring a smile to your face every time you walk past it. Great job my friend.
  12. Wow Gary, those PE wheels look perfect. +1 on the 288 GTO to go with this one. (I myself have the Fujimi 1/16 288 GTO in hiding downstairs unbuilt.)
  13. Looks great Ron! I know what you mean about the Boyd's colors....we are drawn to them like a magnet. Very nice build.
  14. Nice job on the build John. Paint looks great for your first time with an airbrush. I have the original version of this kit in my stash.....looks like it is time to pull it out!
  15. John your body work is amazing! With all those different lines to cover and there is no evidence of any of it! Just magnificent! Love the way you accented the lines on the body with a slightly darker pink!
  16. This mustang is just beautiful!! Give's me much more push to start on my 1/12 GT500!
  17. Very clean. Nice looking build Ron!
  18. I feel that cats were put here on Earth to keep us on our toes......and when their leader gives them the word they will all turn into a ball of teeth and claws and kill us all and take over. Not a cat guy here.
  19. You did a very nice job on this James. Just got mine the other day and cant wait to get started. Yours is a real inspiration!
  20. If you dont leave it on too long it wont damage the surface it is on. If the clear gets cloudy you can rub it out with compound and wax.
  21. Thanks Vaughn! I used Easy Off oven cleaner. Sprayed it down and let it sit overnight. Rinsed right off in the morning. Works great as long as the glue does not marr the surface.
  22. Alright! Thanks Rob. Bought this gluebomb partially built kit for $13 shipped off of fleabay. Good day of progress yesterday, got all the 40 year old glue stripped off of everything (even the glass!) Fixed all the broken pieces as well.
  23. Can I get in on this? I have a kit of the Revell BRE/Datsun 240Z I just bought as a glue bomb......and it is definitely a doozy! All the parts are there but there is glue everywhere! Including the glass! It was worse last night before starting on the glue removal process. Heres a few examples of the "win" involved.....Note the supports were left in on the windshield and rear window then glass was glued to them!
  24. Hey Gary, right now the GT500 kit at Hobby Lobby is about $44.00 with the 40% off coupon. Bought mine yesterday!
