  1. Very clean build! The green looks so powerful over gold. Way to think outside the box. Great job.
  2. Absolutely amazing work Oskars! Welcome to the forum.
  3. This Aston is a work of art! Just beautiful Al.
  4. I will post up pics of my 1/12 Super Snake when it is completed.
  5. My 240z has turned into even more of a nightmare! Paint went all wrong due to some sort of unexpected surface "issue" (darn glue residue from 70's). Had to strip to bare plastic again and the body cracked in about 8 places! Complete start over with no time to work on it. (Throws hands up and walks out.)
  6. Ok so the suspension is not quite done yet, but I thought i would post up some more progress of where I am at on this build. The chassis paint is actually spot on to the 1:1 but the photos show it lighter, the color was mixed with Testors enamel gold, light matte tan, and matte (1166) brown. It came out as a slight metallic medium tan. and Final suspension mockups with the wheels mounted (but not glued yet.)

My thoughts exactly, what clear coat did you use Bruce? The shine is amazing!
  8. Thanks Dave. Should be putting some pics up of the mounted suspension and finished chassis tomorrow. Exhaust was painted to resemble stainless with the purple/blue/brown heat trails.
  9. Thanks Henry. There is definitely room for upgrades with the kit, but this is sure shaping up to be an interesting display piece. Go ahead and start on yours, it is a fun builder for sure.
  10. Thank you Santiago. I will be putting up some new progress soon of the chassis and the Super Snake wheels mounted. It is quite AGGRESSIVE!
  11. Thanks again Fred. Would love to see some pics of your 1:1 ! Thanks Gary. Been waiting to see some progress on yours. The wire harnesses you are doing are just awesome. Gotta figure those out for my build here. Thanks Chris!
  12. Ooops! I noticed in the last photos I had forgotten to paint the front of the supercharger black to match the 1:1. There we go!
  13. So as I said in the last posting on 4-2, I was planning on making a Kenne Bell supercharger for this build. The Kenne Bell is the supercharger the Super Snake uses soooooo it had to be in the build. I decided to make it out of wood because of the shapeability of it. I include a picture of the 1:1 supercharger so you can see my inspiration for the design. I think it came out pretty good for having to cut apart the upper intake and fuel rails. This is what I am shooting for \/\/ And a picture of the intake tube I painted
  14. Hey thanks Fred. Yeah I looked at the window blanks too but the scoops seemed a little more appropriate to the theme I am heading in. Would love to get one of these someday myself and I dont blame you for not wanting to part with your 40th!
  15. Thanks Jeff! I work on it during the day before I go to work 2nd shift. I wanted to make something unique out of this kit that I would be proud to display.....I believe though, I am beginning to fall down "the rabbit hole."
  16. Thank you for the kind words Luc.
  17. Thanks, I dont blame you for getting them.....if I had a Mustang it would be the first purchase I would make. No unfortunately I didn't do a step by step on them. I just dug in and built them. You basically have to cut apart the hood, refit it, add the sides, and then reglue it together. the scoops were just measured, cut, and glued styrene. Next will be the Kenne-Bell supercharger, then the embroidered headrests will be hand painted (Cobras.) STAY TUNED!
  18. Some more progress today......made the Cervini's quarter window scoops Another 1:1 shot with the scoops on it
  19. Got them off of ebay. R/C section.
  20. Thanks guys...your probably right about the hood but for me to do this one I had to cut, raise, and section the hood that came with the kit. Besides, I wouldn't know the first idea of how to cast it anyhow. Good idea though.
  21. Nice job on the build. I have the original release of this kit in my stash waiting to be done. Airbrushing is like riding a bike.....you get better at it the more you do it.
