  1. Hi guys. Here´s next short update. Today some work and tips about a work with PE parts. I decide try to start with grille. The set from CTM (Czech Truck Model) offer most options of assembly of this grille. You can choose between marking (2800, 3300), than it can be with or without DAF badge. But the most important is option to make this truck with or without closed hood mudguard pannel. I tried to make version with open pannel. It means that hood wil be with extra front lights. But here´s one problem. You must prepare some housing for lights (some plastic profiles...). It is nothing hard, just take a time with this work. By the assembling of PE parts I usually used superglue. Better is gel, becouse you´ve got a little bit time to place the part to right position. By this glua is just one problem - fog. You can eliminate it if you´ll used very very thin layer of glue. Or buy and use Loctite GO2 (here in Slovakia, no Chance:( ). Or very good is try to glue with clear coat! Very good is Mr.color Superclear III (use a pure without thinner). Siple work like with superglue. I used it for example by assembling of mirrors, brackets, antenas or more. Blac color is Revell synthetic 302. If you´ll try a superglue, very good to correct some mistakes and for is Debonder (solution liquid). I don´t know under which name it is in U.S.A. Work carefully because Debonder is very aggresive to paint and color surface. Take down color also! Each sort! It is good to use it only by PE part before painting. For some small weathering I use this two tamiya weathering sets. Must be there oil stains and yellow, for me necessary.... Paul.
  2. Great work. Very nice color combo.
  3. I started some work on interior. As a carpet is used sanding paper (1200), of course you can change color of it.... Gauge cluster are PE parts from set for Daf ntt (CTM). Glass on cluster is Testors clear parts cement. It is white because it´s fresh. Morning we will see, that it will be clear or not
  4. Wau... this is awesome. Great work!
  5. Here´s something from my supplies... and my good friends collection and supplies...

  11. Thanx guys. Today just very short update. Engine and fuel tanks are placed. Sorry for photo quality - terrible lights.
  12. I'm using all types of colors. But the best for me are colours which are on lacquer base. This colours are from Gunze known as Mr.Color. Gunze makes acrylics and lacquer paints. Lacquers are also under marking as Gunze "C". Especially for best results in car models category are Gunze GX. This colours are dry after 15 minutes (also black gloss)! And they are very very gloss. Like a thinner I'm using only original Mr.color thinner (blue label) or also Mr.color thinner (yellow label - but be carefull, this thinner consists retarder and it has tendence to make "live" under coat of colour!) Because I used in 99% blue label. As a clear coat is awesome Super Clear III also from Mr.color. Thinner is the same. If you need make clearcoat over decals make 3-4 thin layers than full layer. Do not thin with yellow label because your decals can be damaged! Better do not use this Gunze C or Gx over synthetic or email colours (rrvell or humbrol or model master) because this color will be damaged also. This lacquers are very very agressive! Very good results I have with 2k clearcoat. Doesn' t matter which mark. I use Ivat from Italy. All 2k colours and clearcoats are not agressive against another sorts of colors. Under clearcoat you can use acrylic, synthetic or lacquer....
  13. Alan, this is great paintjob. Awesome.
  14. Congratulation, my friend.
  15. This is my display case. It will be for 75-80 trucks. Lights are Led stripe (cold light) 5 meters long with remote controller and dimmer.
  16. I started work on engine.... not yet finished.
  17. Good work Greg. Here´s some short update. Well, I tried to make some very small wash work. I think without this plastic kit looks like a toy. Also details like bolts and nuts gets deeper look.
  18. Here comes short update. I decide to use original yellow color from Daf. It was mixed by my friends in Car paintshop. So I try autenthic Daf yellow on my kit. It is only yellow base but very nice also without clearcoat (can be covered by 2k clearcoat, it is very very nice). So, this is only frame, that it can be not so shiny (wheels are not glued yet, so are not in correct position).
  19. If I understand... this glue don't make a "fog" on clearparts?
