personally if you can't get the compressor I would first buy a combo kit , airbrush and compressor for like 89 dollars ,, I thought of doing the air tank but it didn't add up ,, a compressor is 89 dollars , and by the time you get a tank and regulator and all your close to the cost of a compressor ,, even home depot has a small compressor for 49 dollars

what is this addiction ,, I see a build on here and the first thing is I am amazed at the build , second thing that happens is , gotta get the kit , NOW !!! and now as in if you don't get it they will vanish from the face of the earth ,so you look for said kit and in the search you see a different car and another , in just a few very very very short weeks I have managed to get around 30 kits and 8 more for sure are coming next week , now this got me thinking , how many will actually get built , is half the fun just buying the kit and seeing the box ,, oh well , time to look at a few more kits

Gluing steel to plastic Question
CrazyGirl replied to CrazyGirl's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
so Bill , you like this idea about the guitar string for interior stuff ?? , it's 100% perfect for the chrome molding on this vette dash ,, I see no other way to do this , or I mean I can't see painting a tiny molding like this -
ok I have an idea , but not glue , but the same mega sticky adhesive they use on 3M double sided molding tape , if I can find such a thing I can brush it on the back of wire and stick it anywhere and have no worry about a glue bomb mess ,,, you men are smart , you know these things , put your thinking caps on !!! , so the same sticky stuff they use on this

Gluing steel to plastic Question
CrazyGirl replied to CrazyGirl's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Jeff ,, what would be a lot better is tweak it to a perfect fit , that's easy , paint said panel , and if I could find the same type of sticky glue that they use on the 3M double sided molding tape , coat the back side of the wire with that sticky glue and then you can very easily fit the trim on the panel and tweak as you go with no mess , or am I being way to nuts even thinking about this -

Gluing steel to plastic Question

rough fit , but is this going overboard , is it even worth the time ??? the molded in trim I would shave off -
I took an .010 coated guitar string ( will never rust) and for kicks I did a fast bend job just to see how it would look and it looks good , can be great if I take extra time to do a proper bending for an exact fit , that's not an issue ,,,, issue is can this be glued up to plastic neatly , remember this was just a quickie bend ,,, but it would look killer

transmission linkage Q
CrazyGirl replied to CrazyGirl's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hey Thanks Bill !!!! ,,,, where oh where do you find these pics , i have searched for 2 hours for a pic like that !! , Thanks -
a question for picky to extremely picky builders ,,, on the transmission linkage ( I don't know the name of this part ) the I guess a clevis end that screws onto the rod , if I don't have that and just do a 90 bend in the rod is that frowned upon or is it ok , and also I think the rod I am using is to fat , yes , no ?
