  1. well alot of really good points were brought up. for those saying i was making a big deal out of it, I was not, Ive just never used the stuff. and I always wear a dual cartridge 3m mask anyways. I personally like testors one coat lacquer clear, but the price is not worth it for that small can. I was thinking of starting to use the 2k but after reading the posts Ive decided to stick with the lacquer. thanks everyone.
  2. sorry guys!! i posted from my phone and the first half didnt publish. what i meant to say was is the hassle of mixing the clear worth it, and is the the expense of buying the proper safety gear. and even with a long sleeve shirt the paint can still get into your system. you should wear a paint suit and goggles. plus the isocynates in the paint are very very dangerous, and you cant smell them unlike lacquer and enamel
  3. rules: please refrain from innaproprite vocabulary. keep discussion topic related. no personal insults or attacks ready, set, go!!
  4. Ive gotten alot done since he forum went down. I wired the starter, and plumbed the fuel lines, the oil filter, the radiator top & bottom. I also added an oil cooler, and plumbed it as well. fully functional suspension and turning abilities. aftermarket wheels. drilled the drum brakes to fit around the wheel shaft and painted them star spangled blue, trimmed the axles to fit in the wheel shaft and glued on the front wheels. painted the wood grain in the interior. it looks grey in the picture but its quite brown I just need to flock the carpet.
  5. Im really liking larrys work! absolutely fantastic. the only brusing I do is acrylics, for detailing, and even that doesnt look nearly as good as those bodies do!
  6. well my model got packed in a unmarked box it appears and we have a stack of 40ish boxes. i was hoping someone could providethe dimensions of the box to the MPC street charger so i could narrow down the search some. thabks for your time.
  7. It's a contest held by chevy cheesburger on youtube. I do plan on removing the, but I think they will be covered by some other stuff. And the flash and everything else has been trimmed and sanded as much as possible. It's the MPC street charger.
  8. Darn right it will!
  9. I'll make sure to post some pictures. I waiting on some paint and styrene sheet right now. Yep! I Actually can't find the cover for that so it will be on display I guess!
  10. No painting or anything. Just basically mocking it up. That's why I want the glue to be undo able. I just want something to do, and since its not a snap kit I was hoping to use white glue or something similar.. No sanding or painting involved.
  11. first contest build. lemme know what you think so far! ll big an little low profile tires donated by a member of the forum. ill edit his name in later..its 2am.... will be all plumbed and wired eventually clear rocker arm cover clutch I think?
  12. got a little progress done.. cut open the wheel wells and painted the body. im moving in three days so im saving the rest of the building for our 3 13 hour car trips... heres the part you've been waiting for.. also if anyone knows an adhesive that i can "build" the model with in the car, and then take it apart again when we get to the new house and paint it and cement it etc, really build it... let me know please.
  13. are you airbrushing it? it looks quite glassy!
  14. Are you using the duplicolor clear?
  15. I think I'm going to have to! I believe I've seen pictures of those on the forum some where, and I really liked them!
  16. Wow....that's incredible.....
  17. Ahh! I was thinking you did the red, then BMF'ed the letters only! That would require some little gremlins!
  18. What's the average cost per case? It looks spectacular! Along with the model inside!
  19. How on earth did you do the peterbilt logos!
  20. Is that the same type as the testors red tube stuff?
  21. Do they come in different sizes, and do they offer any protection from UV rays fading the paint? I'll have to look into those!
  22. I recently heard someone mention in a video that their models were sealed in airtight cases... Is there a place to buy them at reasonable price, or do you build them? On that note, if you build your own, post some pictures if you want!
  23. Are those pins PE?
