  1. I curious as to how you would have dismantled it if it were a "glue bomb". Every glued piece I've separated has broken off pieces, or snapped. Do you soak in a solution, or time separates it?
  2. 1) Was your introduction to modeling at home? Nope. I got a model plane when I was a little kid, but didnt know anything. I just remember the glue smelled like oranges. I kinda picked it up on my own.. 2) From whom? I guess you could say doctor cranky! I was watching some videos on airbrushing warhammer figures, and in the suggested videos on the side was donn yosts "the art of airbrushing. Show quality model cars" and I was hooked. Then he mentioned doctor cranky, and I checked him out, and the rest is history. 3) What kind of models (cars, planes, trains, etc)? Anything with wheels 4) What did the person who introduced you to modeling do for a living ? 5) How old were you? 6) About what year was your introduction? 1) Was your introduction to modeling at home? 3. I'm really interested to know if this guys going to get charged or whatever for the damages. Especially if it wasnt his fault due to mechanical failure or what have you. I suppose there will be a big investigation.
  4. I know this isn't contributing to threads at all, but some of this box art makes me jealous of you "old" guys. Today, you text a picture on a box. SOMETIMES If your lucky you get a background! Man, now I know why that was the "golden era". Thank you so much for doing all this work.
  5. Wen you do the trial, may I see the completed harnesses?
  6. I got ran oer by a steam roller! At least I feel like it. Oh well, guess ill have to rest and work and some models
  7. Where did you get the wood grain?
  8. I think they're looking for the actual pins. I think they're called cotter pins or something?
  9. I think it might be the tamiya candy lime green.
  10. sweet! Thanks! I'm half tempted to do an all chrome version, but I don't want to waste the ginsen stuff! I think I'll stick with lime ice for now!
  11. Just wondering about the overall quality of the kit, things to watch out for, things to do to improve stuff on the kit, etc. thanks for your time. EDIT:Thank you to the moderator who placed my topic here, I made the topic before I realized what was going on with the forum, and thought the old topics just got deleted. Sorry.
  12. Same reason most kids who's parents played football, play football. I'm not really sure what that reason is, but there is on I'm sure. I know I'm not explaining it very well, but I'm a spray paint "artist" ( or so I like to call myself) its like street art stuff with space scenes and whatnot. And the feeling you get when people see something you did, and you explain it to them and teach it to them ( or try to ) is extremely satisfying. I think that's why people want their kids to build models with them and pass it down.
  13. One word that could explain alot of things..... "nostalgia." People want others to experience the good things in life that they experienced "back in the day"
  14. Thanks! I thought it wasn't going to look good but it turned out pretty good,
  15. The liscense plate stopped my "but it's fiberglass it can't ru- ohhhhhh" comments right in in its tracks. This is why we build models, to do things to them that we couldn't and wouldn't do to a 1:1 car. Put aside the technicalities, and this is a darn good looking rust job. The holes and the dents make it look like something you would see in some teenagers backyard that he pulled out of a field at his grampas farm, and did what he could to make it work. I'm not sure what it is about this model but it is my favorite out of any rusted model I've seen. Alright, I'm done blabbing now!
  16. Thanks! And I made the mistake of clear coating over the silver so it dulled it a little bit, but it still looks decent I think next car is a BIG step forward from this, with wiring and foil, and scratch building, but it should be fun!
  17. Yeah about that..... Darn little sisters... And their not molded in you have to glue em on.
  18. Does anyone have a way to make trunk hinges for this car?
  19. Thanks man! Is actually stock ride height except in the rear where it's raised slightly. I is the lowrider kit though, if that's what you mean, and I did put the horns and the pumps and pre amps and stuff are in there just to fill up the spaces.
  20. Thanks! I'm pretty happy with. Ha nope no missing headlight, that one just didnt fog up when I glued it for some reason...
  21. Yes I still need to put the radiator hoses on... Thanks fer lookin.
