Hello all, I hope everyone’s well. I just picked up the Revell B-17G in 1:48 scale at Hobby Lobby. Haven’t built a plane since the early 1970’s. So I do have some questions. Do I paint it in aluminum, Olive Drab, or Camoflage. If I go the Olive or Camo route I know what paints to use. However if I go with Aluminum what is a good rattle can brand to use? I have used various brands over the years with my cars, and trucks but my planes I always did bottle enamels on my planes. Any suggestions, tips are appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Jerry

Also want to do a SD Daycab. Unsure of a few things: Livery. Want to do a fleet unit but the kit precludes this on a number of levels. Most fleets ran the single headlights, and no 10 hole wheels on steer, or drive. Don't want to splurge on resin wheel sets. So if I go the O/O or small fleet route I guess I could use the chrome wheels/ Could use others thoughts on colors. Thanks Jerry

Hello all hope everyone’s well. I have a weird attraction to attempting to build the AMT White Freightliner. This will be my 5th one I am starting. Got the cab from a friend of mine recently and will buy the 75th Anniversary kit at Hobby Lobby. Am planning on painting below the doors either Dark Blue, or Black. Color is Rustoleum Sunset Yellow (Revell Pete 359, KW W900 Cat Yellow I call it). We’ll see how she turns out.

And so the build continues. New hood and cab w/visor from a good friend. Krylon Regal Blue Gloss. Much better result this time. Will get a Novus Polishing set to get the desired result. Truth be told never used Novus so could use some tips. Feel much better about the effort this time around. -

Decided to go a more Plain Jane route. Rustoleum Gloss Seaside for the cab. Looks a little Global Van Lines esqure(ish). The frame and all associated parts will be Semi gloss Black. Interior Tan/Brown. Unsure of the engine color. White or Cummins Tan. -

Yes agree on Jerry's decals. Just have to figure out if I am using the longer hood Vector, or the shorter squared off one on the sheet? Suggestions welcomed. Color change to Blue. -

I ordered these decals tonight from Model Truckin'. Was always a big Movin' On fan. I chose White with Gold outline. Also have a spare cab and hood I got from a friend that I am going to use instead. Probably going with a Tamiya Blue TS15, or TS51. -
Peterbilt 359 take Two
JerseeJerry55 replied to JerseeJerry55's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Weather cooperated and painted her. Never painted a tractor cab in black before. The only issue is that the air cleaner and bracket broke off. Have to figure out what glue to reattach it with so she holds, and what stripes I may want to use. -
Hello all. Since I replaced my BRBO2021 Peterbilt 359 with the KW W900 I have decided to do a separate build thread for the 359. Stripped the paint down and will prime and repaint her over the next week or so when the weather cooperates accordingly. May end up not being my best build ever but it sure may be the one I have fussed over the most.

New project on tap

Thanks. Small issue on first coat. May have been too far away. A little rough not smooth like glass. Suggestions on getting it to where I want prior to clear coating.
