  1. Anybody build this (I am pretty sure a number of you have)? If so I am curious to see what I may be in for for this build. On the fence about the tractor vs wrecker assembly. I know that there is no 5th wheel, slide plate included. Also looking at the instructions online it appears also no quarter fenders, or mud flaps in the kit. Also I would have to source the tow cable which presents another issue. That all being said this ought to be fun. As always any tips, suggestions, mentioning of me needing my head examined would be most appreciated. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is not, I repeat NOT a Revell USA snap version of the 359
  2. Picking up items from my Wife’s needed items list and I came across this. Only $29.97 and I had buy it. Now the question is wrecker, or tractor. Suggestions, building tips, etc. are as always appreciated. Walmart carrying models now is a plus.
  3. Thanks. I’ve got a few ideas. Thinking maybe an Aqua, a Royal Blue, Yellow, Green, Red, or an Orange. Was thinking about a Grey but I’ve decided to put the kabosh on that choice. Remember I always reserve the right to change my mind more than a 17 year old girl when picking out a prom dress.
  4. Especially on these Revell USA kits I assemble all parts (except the rear suspension) and paint. I then paint the rear suspension. I then brush paint the airbags with black acrylic paint. Then I attach the suspension to the frame. As far as ghosting not sure, but if it does I generally do a weathering wash anyway.
  5. Thank you. The frame is now semi gloss Black
  6. Evening everybody hope all are well. Start of my Revell USA KW W900. Started the frame tonight.
  7. Please count me in with this. As I progress I will post pictures.
  8. Had a couple of these back in the early 1980’s. I’ll probably get one for the nostalgia effect in me. May not be perfect. Yet neither am I.
  9. On the bench first for 2022 will be my AMT 1968 Camaro Z28. My favorite year of the 1st Generation. I had the 1968 Hot Wheels Camaro my Mom got for me when I was a kid by saving Hi C can labels and mailing them in to get it for me. Color will be a shade of Green. Unsure if I’m going stock, or street with her. Will post progress pics along the way. I know there have been some posted issues and I will address them accordingly. If you have built this kit and have tips, suggestions, etc. please feel free to let me know. Thank you.
  10. Hello all hope everyone’s well. Have a question about Testors Color Shift Paint. How easy it to use, and does it work on styrene well? Thank you.
  11. Thanks yes I have read about the Camaro's. As far as the Mavericks, and Comets a boy can dream can't he?
  12. By the way truth be told I'm still a child. A 60 year old child, but a child nonetheless.
  13. Hello all. Models from my childhood I would love to see reissued. AMT Red Alert Chevelle, Monogram 1969 Camaro Z28, 1974 Camaro (MPC or AMT doesn't matter), 1970 Maverick or Comet. Those were some of my favorites. I'm sure I'll think of more.
  14. Lee thank you great trading with you as well.
  15. Thanks for the tips. Excited to attempt this build. I will take a look at the seats and test fit them.
  16. Happy New Year hope all are well. Have decided on my first two car models I will attempt to build for 2022. The AMT 1968 Camaro Z28, and the AMT 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS6. Colors have been decided on. The Z will be a Kelly Green, and the Chevelle will be a Gloss Black. When April gets here I will attempt the paint. Until then I will do the engines, and associated assemblies. If anyone has any suggestions on building and potential issues it would be most appreciated. Thank you. Regards Jerry
  17. Dan, You're quite welcome. Regards, Jerry
  18. Just noticed the small vent window pillar on the drivers side is slightly damaged. Will have to glue it from the inside. Hopefully that will do the trick. It’s always the small things that bug me. Oh well it can never be easy.
  19. Sorry to disappoint. Lol. I think I am going to try contrasting paint on cab parts. I had a DM800 I got as a Christmas gift in 1977. I did some parts in Red and brush painted some parts in gloss black. Thinking maybe I do the air cleaner in gloss or semi gloss black rattle can.
  20. Looking to maybe do her like this picture. Obviously dechroming the parts as she is a work truck. Will do the frame in semi gloss Black. Undecided on decals.
