Still have the Challenge Mixer available. Pretty open to what I'd want in return. If interested please message me. Thank you. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry55

Would love to find a model of my current ride a Kia Forte but all I see are overpriced diecast versions usually in 1/18th scale

Very Cool I like it. I had a brand new 1988 Excel GLS. Had her about for 7 years. I could go back, and forth from New Jersey to NJ on about $2.00 worth of gas back in 1991.

Agreed with you masking. IMHO I'm only building for myself and I am generally satisfied.
-
Very cool. Nice job.
-
Nah probably not. I'm not very good at masking. If I could mask it properly I might win the Nobel Prize.

Thank you. I know some out there don't like the Rustoleum's, and Krylon's of the world. However I usually have good results. And with the prices of Testor's One Coat, and Tamiya lacquer's sometimes ya gotta press down on the nozzle, spray, and hope for the best. After you have heated up the paint can in some hot water first that is. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry 55

Hello all. I went into my stash and pulled out my AMT Cal Drag Combo. I decided to start the 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. Since it's a curbside model I give myself about a week to finish her off since there's rain in the weekend forecast. If I am correct this should beat my usual start it, put it aside, pick it up 8 months later, start it again...well you get the picture. The color I chose is Rustoleum Gloss Warm Yellow. The interior probably will be Black. We'll have to see. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry 55

I'm actually not go that route. I'd rather trade it as I'm probably never gonna build it. So hopefully someone has interest in it.

I have an AMT Kenworth Challenge Mixer for trade. Everything is there except for the cab which bit the dust today when as an idiot I stepped on it. If anyone is interested in making a trade please message me. Thank you. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry 55

1/25 AMT Chevy Titan 90
JerseeJerry55 replied to cifenet's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very nicely done. Of the two "Sister" ships (Astro 95, and Titan 90) I have always been more partial to the Titan 90. In any event I digress. I am in the midst of starting my build of my "parts box" Titan 90. Got the cab gifted to me by a good friend, and the rest of the parts came from various sources (ie: kind builders on this page). The cab is I believe Testors Mystic Emerald. So that gives me a good start. Your example will be a source of inspiration to me. You oughta be proud of your Titan. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry 55 -
Hi. I am looking for a set of side Mirrors for an AMT GMC Astro 95 (or Chevrolet Titan 90), or the arms for the early edition kit Bus Style Mirrors. Also looking for the early edition grab handles (small slanted ones) from either the Astro, or Titan (not the larger winding grab handles) found in the later edition kits. If anyone has them please message me. Thank you kindly. Regards, Jersee Jerry 55

A Tale of Two California Haulers
JerseeJerry55 replied to RoninUtah's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Really nicely done. I just picked up the Cali Hauler (Brown w/ Sleeper) today @ Hobby Lobby and am raring to tackle her come the Springtime. Curious of any issues that I may expect to encounter with the building of the kit. As always help is very appreciated -
Lee thanks for the tips. Since I have kind of bad arthritis the two tone wheels are an impossibility. Thinking if I am not doing White for the wheels I might think Silver. I have seen examples on the internet of Black with Oxblood Red (I believe), or Tan, and Brown interiors. As far as the exhaust brackets go not sure if I leave them all dullcoated chrome, or try and paint them frame color? Once again arthritis permitting. Jerry

Got the decals today. Going to do it as the box art (instructions sheet) build. So my question are as follows: Do I paint the frame in either flat, or semi gloss Black? Or dark Blue? Wheels I'm thinking White? Interior Black, or Tan, with Brown? Dullcoat the chrome w/ Flat clear spray? Do I paint the grill insert, or leave it chrome/ Any suggestions, or tips as always are appreciated.

I've got two of the AMT IH 4070A's in the stash. One is the original (2021) one and one is the Rat Fink issue. The original has been started, but just got the decals for the other one from Model Truckers LLC (used to be Jerry Reeter's site). So the plan for the second one is use the stripe set I have attached. Ordered all the decals in Red so as the match the picture on the box top of the original issue.

AMT Kenworth Challenge mixer 1/25
JerseeJerry55 replied to truckabilly's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Awesome job. Very realistic. One quick question for you. I am in the process of building the KW Alaskan Hauler kit. How did you attach the mirrors? In other words where do the mounting points attach, and what cement did you use. Based on the difficulty of the White Freightliner, and White Western Star nightmares, I don't want any flashbacks.
