1974 Peterbilt 352
JerseeJerry55 replied to DRIPTROIT 71's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
WOW!!! That is awesome. Very realistic. You have given me inspiration for the next few projects I have planned. IH CO4070A (two of them). Mack Cruiseliner, and the KW W925(using the Alaskan Hauler kit I just got on Saturday). As much as the O/O units of the 1970's early 1980's (Pete 352, 359. KW W925, K123, and White Freightliner's) were extremely nice examples, I did appreciate the fleet units, somewhat more. BTW how difficult was it to put the Winslow stripes on the cab? -
I really like that A LOT. Very nice, and clean. I have two currently. The one I am currently working on is the CO4070A standard issue painted in Testors One Coat Lacquer Star Spangled Blue, with a Semi Gloss Black Frame. The other one is the Rat Fink Issue. That one is earmarked for Krylon Short Cuts Sun Yellow, and will have a Rustoleum Ink Blue satin finish frame. Planning on using the Blue decals from the AMT standard issue kit. By far and away this is my all time favorite truck.

To all hello and Happy New Year. Quick question in regard to painting the drive wheels on the AMT IH 4070A drive wheels. The wheels are beautifully molded, however not sure how to approach painting them. I could go White spray paint, but that may too boring for my project. Frame is going to be a Satin Blue, and the cab will be White with the Blue kit striping. Therefore do I go with any of the following: White Silver Blue The only thing I am not into doing is trying to brush paint the inside of the wheels. Too hard, and my hands/eyes aren't that good anymore. Suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry

So here I now stand with 2 Cruiseliner's (I got the second one from Gary Chastain), and an upcoming typical Southern New Jersey Winter ahead of me. Frankly not the recipe for the lack of clear, concise, decision making that I usually (regretfully) exemplify. So here goes nothing. The engine, frame, and drivetrain are in line to be completed. Could use advice from those who have built the kit before. Specifically on the trunnion and getting it to line up properly. Colors should be relatively easy. I'm choosing from all colors currently found in the spectrum. That being said I am actually looking forward to attempting the build

Gary, Hello. That's awfully kind of you. However I have two AMT Transtar 4070A's (one started, one not) ahead of any future projects, and an AMT KW Alaskan Hauler kit slightly started (cab primed, hood primed, frame some. Although not sure if I am going to build the Alaskan Hauler, or not. I actually may look to move it down the line in a trade. So I am at an impasse with that.

Gary, This project is going to be on hold. The kit I received is missing a good number of parts such as rear axles, the axle carriers, and the intercooler pieces. It will be returned probably later this week. I will be on the hunt for a replacement probably after the Holidays. Have a great day. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry

Hello all. Hope all are well. I just scored a 2008 Stevens International Mack Cruiseliner on Ebay for a good price. Should be here late this coming week. So the Winter should be fun one between a few projects. That being said I am going to be doing some extensive research on colors, liveries, and of course would like to see some others finished projects. Build advice on what to expect also would be appreciated. Thank you.

Question about the Hideout Trick

Thank you. I've been reading online that there are warpage issues with the frame, as well as brittle plastic. Has anyone seen these issues? -
Winter project need suggestions

Update on my Winter project. I ordered these from what used to be Model Truckin. Next step is color of the fleet unit, and which of the livery I want to use. -
Winter project need suggestions

Also I am considering using the company decals from the A64B Autocar that are in my stash. Of the four companies on the sheet I have eliminated the Hoosier Motor Freight ones. This leaves Bixby Livestock, Dixie Motor Lines, and Western Express. My concern is all 4 seem to be dramatically out of scale. Or am I off? -

Winter project need suggestions
JerseeJerry55 posted a topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
To all good afternoon and hope everyone is well. Have some questions about a winter project i will be starting. I have the AMT IH CO4070A Transtar (Rat Fink) kit unstarted. Looking for suggestions on a trucking company/color to go with. If anyone has any suggestions I'd certainly appreciate it. I'm asking because I'm having issues finding what I need on the net as the old go to Hank's Truck Pictures is non existent. TIY. -
The 1968 Firebird has been traded. I still have the others.

I am going to be building the MPC "Ohio" George Montgomery Mustang hopefully soon. That being said I need to source the Silver Blue paint in rattle can form. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to get some. Thank you. Jersee Jerry
