  1. Do the straps on the front, and back windows. I frankly suck at it.
  2. To all, Hello and I hope all is well. I have some diecast NASCAR cars (1:24, and 1:64) I am looking to purge. I will post pictures tonight. Most of them I've had for 20 years or so. Regards, JerseeJerry
  3. Thank you very much for the reply. I will give it a whirl. Would 3M Painters tape work equally well in place of the regular masking tape?
  4. Hello, and I hope everyone is well. Now that the weather is finally warming up here in NJ I can start doing paint jobs. One of my stash projects is the Monogram 1956 Chevrolet Belair I picked up at Ollies recently. I am generally not one to really attempt two tone paint jobs (I think about it quite a bit but don't have the guts to do it) so I could use some assistance. I have laid down a coat of Testors One Coat Lacquer Diamond Dust as the base. I am planning on using One Coat Lacquer White Lightning, and a yet undecided second color. Now comes the fun part the masking of the trim along the sides of the car, and the roofline/trunk area? Can anyone please guide me in the direction for the prep, and which tape/supplies to use. I'm thinking Tamiya masking tape will be the tape choice but what else do I use to cover the White? I am pretty apprehensive to say the least as I would like to get nice crisp lines. Any help will as always be most appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  5. Please check with me when the NJ Polar Icecap thaws. I’ll have an answer then.
  6. Hello all hope all are well. Quick question about the 4070A pics inside the instructions (the one color cab) since they are Black & White does anybody have any idea the actual color? I’m thinking Red or Blue.
  7. Thanks. Yes 40% every other week on kits
  8. I'd like to join in this year. Have had a major builders block up until recently. So why not enter this. Just bought it today. Please let me know if I can enter or is it too late?
  9. I just picked this up today off the shelf at my nearby Hobby Lobby. Had one back in 1978 from a friend who started the kit and bottled painted the cab and then would clean the brush with tap water. Before you ask, I don't know why he did that. So, I am (as always) very unsure about color(s). I also can use some of you builder's experiences with this kit. I did not have a good experience with the R-685ST frame and suspension which has shied me away from attempting any other AMT Mack kits. As always suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.
  10. I think WOW would be a good word to use. That's awesome.
  11. Hello all hope everyone is well. Change of plans. A combination of builders block and the inability to be able to paint cause it’s Winter have altered my entry choice. Picked this up at my model car club meeting. My Wife wanted a real 1:1 when we started dating 36 years ago. Color choice will be up to her. Please advise if I can use this as my entry instead of my original choice.
  12. Hello all, Hope everyone’s well. Started this project a few days ago. AMT White Freightliner SD. The cab and frame were painted last Summer and put away. Going for a West Coast freight truck look. Cab is Krylon Royal Blue. Need a color suggestion for the frame. Thinking Red or Orange. Could use suggestion(s). Also doing it as a single slack. So need directions on how to do that. Thanks..
  13. I have decided to enter my 1970 !/2 Z28. Even with the slight sink hole in the roof I think I can correct that issue. I will create a separate build thread for the project. What is the deadline for the build off? New Jersey still has about 4 more weeks of Winter thanks to the that dang Possum (Punxsutawney Phil) seeing his shadow. Oh well this delay will allow me to change my mind another 1,500 times as I obsess over which paint color to choose.
  14. Super nice job. Quick question about the body. While inspecting mine it appears I have two slight sink hole marks on the trunk right above where the screw hole posts are. Did you have those on yours as well?
  15. .....then you know Jerry’s impatient AND bored. I have a lot of unbuilt and slightly started projects. Thinking about a couple of my AMT Camaro’s the 1968 Z28 , and the 1970 1/2 Z28. The 1968 probably doing it stock with the Rallye Wheels. The 1970 1/2 slightly modded. That being said I’d appreciate pics of either if you’ve built them. And commentary on the good, and the bad on the build. Thanks as always.
  16. What week’s flyer is this from?
  17. Yes an unsung hero indeed. Along with the White 9000, the Mack R Model, and the International Fleetstar 2070A.
  18. Interesting. I have questions. Interior bucket, dash seats, etc. would be 3D printed? Interior glass as well, or source elsewhere? Use a Freightliner, or Transtar 4070A for the donor chassis?
  19. Hello all hope everyone is well. Have some questions about the MPC Streaker Vette. For the engine bay how much sanding will it take to ensure I get a good fit? Also it shows in the instruction sheet that there are pins that the engine bay fits into but I see no holes that the pins go into. Also what else may I need to know? Thank you in advance.
