Found the Revell 125 scale 1969 Baldwin Motion Camaro @HQ Hobbies for $13.89 plus shipping. Looking to do it with the standard spoiler rather than the pedestal spoiler. Anyone know where I can obtain that spoiler or some willing to swap spoilers. Color choices are narrowed down to orange, green, or burgundy. This model is going to look great next to my Buick GSX I'm working on now. Getting that kid on Christmas Day feeling again.

Hi all, I got a tremendous response to my initial inquiry in regard to the best 1967-1970 1/2 Camaro. Thanks for all who gave me tremendous insight including some really awesome pics of completed models. My next inquiry is in regard to which Mustang kit is better. Let me preface it by saying not a big fan of the pre 1967 Mustangs (although had a girlfriend back in '82 whose Dad had a really sweet 1966 coupe in green with a black vinyl top and a very healthy 351 under a Thunderbolt hood scoop. That thing was faassst.). As the novice I am looking for ease of assembly, minimal flash and adjusting of misfit parts. My favorite Mustang is probably the 1967 followed by 1969 or 70. That being said any help/insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. Jerry

Thanks I appreciate all the help as I know my skill set is limited as compared to others on the board. I have a ton of ideas and with help I hope to achieve them. The way I look at it if I am 50% as good as the excellent modelers on the board I will have succeeded. -

So just get an emery board (sanding stick) and sand the line flat? What grit and shoot a second coat of primer? Never have done this before so want to be sure on this. -

Thanks. Quick question since it's been primed do just sand the lines flat or does it take more than just sanding? -

Hey Bill, Thanks for replying back. Did wash the frame, and body in detergent and allowed it to air dry. Will do the sanding in a few days as I have to wait on the TS19 my LHS has ordered for me. Thanks again your tips/suggestions are invaluable. -

Also do I have to sand the primer before painting? If so what grit, how hard do I press, and anything else I may need to do to prep for paint. Thanks for looking. -

Anybody know if there's a set of Cragar rims that will fit the 1/24 scale GSX's tires with out any rework? I believe that the stock GSX rims are two piece. Any help as always is appreciated. Thanks for looking. Jerry -

okay just went and got a can of duplicolor primer from the auto parts store (grey color) then had to order Tamiya TS19 from my hobby shop he was out of the color. Have to return the Testors to the store. Thanks for the tips. Bought a bunch of different glues which I will update which ones on the next posting. -

Thanks. I am really looking forward to this build. Have chosen to build as a GS Stage 1 rather than the GSX. So no spoiler or body colored headlight bucket covers. Have chosen to paint her a Royal Blue similar to the picture I uploaded. Although my model will have a Black interior whereas the picture shows a White interior. I picked up Testors rattle can royal blue, flat black, and their grey primer last night. Have read that Testors may be a no no these days. Anybody's thoughts on the paint brand will be welcomed. Gonna be raining here in South Jersey over the next 4 days so the painting will be put off a bit. So if I'm making a mistake on the paint brand I can return it, -
Hello all. My Monogram 1970 GSX has finally arrived from Hobbylinc. Pretty excited about it. As I have previously posted its my first car model in 30 or so years so I think the basic build should take place. Tamiya Royal Blue with a black interior. I thought about a white interior but that may be reserved for when I am more experienced. I will post my progress as it goes (hopefully it goes well). Planning on doing it as a 1970 GS as the GSX decals have me a bit skiddish as does photetched parts. Thanks for looking.

Really nice job. My Mom had an original in blue. This will be one I'd like to do. Thanks again for showing us your work.

Plus I've always been a huge fan of the L88 hood scoop.

Okay so stopped by my local hobby shop and had him order me the 1970 1/2 Baldwin Motion kit. Can't wait. Will do copious amount of research on the paint colors.

Nah never get tired of any help I can get. Those are really awesome Camaro's you built. All of them really really nice. Now back to my son. We were in our local Ollie's Bargain Outlet and they had some models left over. In looking at them he liked this Lindberg 1971 Mustang Fastback kit. It was complete garbage if you ask me. And an AMT 2011 Camaro drop top. Of the two obviously the Camaro is the better choice. However have you ever built this kit. It seemed pretty nice but still like to know pro's and con's on kits. Thanks again for posting your kits.

Okay now my questions start rolling in

Is Krystal Klear sturdy? I don't want to risk someone picking it up and voila I get a " Gee I'm sorry but I put your windshield in the front seat". -

How does it get applied? Do you just attach the windshield/rear window in spots or take a toothpick and apply in a straight line? Any specific brands you'd recommend? -
Since I haven't built a car in 30 years here's my first of probably many questions. As I'm sure many of you remember car windshields and rear windows were connected and if I remember correctly you glued the connector to the roof. Easy right? But I did a lot of model trucks back in the day and gluing the separate windshields WAS A PAIN. Fogging, glue marks, not enough glue. It was enough to drive me to drink. Now fast forward 35+ years and my fear returns. I have read that the new car kits have separate windshield AND rear window so how do I eliminate the dreaded glue marks. Which adhesive (glue) is sturdy enough yet fumble fingered foolproof for even me? Sorry if the is a ridiculous question but I want to do it correctly. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you all for your commentary so far. Please see below my inspirations for the 1968, the 1969 and the 1970. Now which subject to choose is the question.
-
The 1967 Camaro is not my favorite. 1968 through 1970 1/2 are my favorites. Prob 1969 Revell will be 1st choice.

Thanks for the suggestion. If I may ask how about th AMT 1970 1/2 Baldwin Motion Camaro?
