  1. I will do the box truck first. Then if that comes out okay I will attempt doing another one as a tandem tractor using either the Titan 90 or Transtar 4300 rear suspension as the donor. Or could I use either's frame and add the 8000's cab? Jerry
  2. Just a quick question. Is the frame that much longer than the Dump Truck frame?
  3. Just sent PM. BTW have always loved those 1970's LN/LNTs. Ever since my friends brother built the original AMT dual drive tractor ( if I remember correctly it had McLean Trucking decals ), and saw White Line Fever and that LNT was chasing the Blue Mule. I was hooked on the Louisville series. Thanks again. JerseeJerry
  4. That's a real nice example of the LN8000. If I wanted to do the hinge could styrene tubing be used along with the brass rod? I wish I could do work like yours.
  5. Aaron Thanks. When you say fiddly do you mean how it tilts, or fits against the front firewall? Jerry
  6. Mike Hi I would consider myself an average to below average builder. Have a lot of shortcomings. The way I look at it if I can't rip myself and feel okay about it then who can. Be realistic about yourself is my motto. JerseeJerry55
  7. Good day all, Have questions about builds about 2 separate AMT Heavy Trucks. The GMC General and the LN8000 Short Hauler. Since I stopped building models before the AMT General came out is a difficult build? Also on the Ford Short Hauler what is the easiest process to assemble the cargo box? If I remember back to my non patient this effin trailer is a pain in the caboose days I wasn't good at assembling floors to sidewalls to roofs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks JerseeJerry56
  8. Gator Thanks. Didn't order the Winslow stripes. A little confused about which set. Next 359 will have them. Be good as well.
  9. Okay have just gotten back from a few days at the Jersey Shore and have decided to start the Pete. I have chosen a color for her. The cab is Tamiya Park Green spray lacquer. The fenders, fuel tanks, and the frame will be Tamiya British Green spray lacquer. Have included some photos. As always commentary is welcomed. Thanks for looking. JerseeJerry55
  10. Thanks I'll have to order a set of mine are molded similarly.
  11. Did you see any issue with the shape of the tires or the fit of the wheels to the tires.
  12. Thanks how does it attach to the cab though? JerseeJerry
  13. I guess when you say warped they're egg shaped. I will have to check mine thoroughly when I start my build. If you have to use Moebius' wheel tires I've read that you have to modify them to fit. When you used them was that the case. You'd think Revell would have addressed the issue somewhere along the line. JerseeJerry
  14. Awesome build. Kris Kristofferson would be proud.
  15. I just received this kit for my birthday and can't wait to start it. Your build is awesome. Just a question did you use the stock wheels/tires? I've read they can be quite difficult to get right and have to be substituted in a number of cases. Once again thanks for your model. Well done. JerseeJerry55
  16. This is an awesome job. I have the Peterbilt 359 Snap Tite one and thought it was strictly glue as well. Quick question I have been forewarned about the wheels/tires being an issue. Did you have any issues getting them straight?
  17. I had those posters as well. That is a phenomenal build. Well done.
  18. Okay ordered the stripes from Model Truckin. I liked the Peterbilt PB-130 stripes set for this truck. Requested them in Black w/ Silver outline. That way if I go Maroon, Green, or Blue on the paint job I'm covered. Can't wait to start this project. Will post as I go. Also can anyone suggest where I might find a visor for the cab? JerseeJerry
  19. On their decals if I painted the cab let's say a dark color (Royal, Navy, Black) and chose a lighter shade decal color (light blue, light grey, silver) does the paint color show through?
  20. Thanks. How do they work with decal setting solution? JerseeJerry
  21. Hey has anyone ordered decals from the Model Truckin decals site? If so are they nice? I'd like to use the Winslow stripes but it appears there are 3 different sets. So which would work best on the 359? Thanks Jersee Jerry
  22. How about the rear wheels set from the Round 2 AMT Transtar 4300? Would they slot it without modification?
  23. By the way these are awesome trucks! You are a very talented modeler.
