  1. That's great news. Haven't had a model of the A64B since I was 16 years old back in 1977. Looking forward to it.
  2. All I can say is....................WOWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Wow really nice build. Awesome job. Like this a lot. Where did you get the stripes?
  4. WOW very nice job. That's really nice.
  5. Good morning Mike, The reason I have found out is that AMT didn't want to do separate tooling for a day cab and a sleeper cab.
  6. Thanks for the tips? I guess I cut the styrene to size and attach them to the inside of the cab at the seam line. When you say shim the back wall do you mean the tub or the wall itself?
  7. Pete thank you so much. Enjoy the day.
  8. Thanks for the reply and picture. That's a great build. No filler but is the seam visible at all?
  9. Lee, Good morning. Thank you for the tips. What somebody told me was the following. Block sand the mating pieces all around on the front and middle of the cab. Then glue and fill the seams will plastic filler (don't know which one to use) and sand flat. I will lose some of the riveting but can be replaced with rivet decals (microscale or such). Then install interior tub at front of cab and then the bunk tub after that although not sure if I have to sand the sides of either the cab tub or the bunk tub or both.If you can provide some direction to the above I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. JerseeJerry55
  10. Morning all. Hope everyone's well. Have a question which is the easier build. The AMT Peterbilt 352 or the White Freightliner Dual Drive? I heard negatives on both. The 352 supposedly has issues with the cab and the exhaust stack alignment in addition to the frame needing to be pin straight in alignment with the front bumper cab hinge pins. The Freightliner with its 3 piece cab and the sanding the interior to fit in addition to sanding the front and middle pieces flat to get a proper seam fit the possibly using a filler to eliminate the seams. If anyone has built either or both I'd love to hear about your experience's positive and negative in addition to any pictures you may have of completed works. Thank you as always. JerseeJerry55
  11. Hello all just got a 1998 Jeff Gordon Monte kit. It's the one in the 50th Anniversary Tin. Need tips on laying the paint and suggestions on paint brand and closest color shade to do this kit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jerry
  12. John, Thanks. In doing a bit of research on the Jimmy Means cars from 1987. In addition to the Grand Prix's Jimmy also ran Monte Aerocoupes in the Turtle Wax scheme. BTW the builds you have shown on the site in addition to the information you offer is invaluable to all of us. Your builds are PHENOMENAL. Thank you. Jerry
  13. Mornin all, Quick question does anyone know what is the correct shade of green is for the Jimmy Means Turtle Wax Monte Aerocoupe. I know Old Coyote built a Turtle Wax Grand Prix. As always help is much appreciated. Thanks Jerry
  14. Okay not what I wanted to hear. Oh well. Thanks. I'll know better from now on. Thanks again.
  15. To all hi Okay so being the Brainiac that I am I have succeded in clear coating my windshield and back window on my latest project. What a mess. I have tried rubbing alcohol, stainless steel polish, toothpaste, windex, and nothing has worked. It has been suggested that I used LA Totally Awesome All Purpose Cleaner. I cannot source it locally but have found a similar product by Top Job. Question I have is do I have to take the glass out and soak it in the liquid or can I leave glass intact and swab on with a Qtip or a cotton ball and then wipe it clean? FYI I have glued the glass in place with Testors Canopy Glue then glued from the inside with standard Testors Model Cement. So I would probably have to exacto knife it off I would think. Help is most appreciated. Thanks Jerry
  16. What a cool car. Job very well done.
  17. Thanks for looking and commenting.
  18. Easy Off seemed to work. I then wet sanded some areas. Will let her dry and then re attempt the paint. Thanks to all for putting up with me. Jerry
  19. I have secured a backup body from eBay. The description says Davey Allison 1990 Thunderbird but I assume it the same as the one I got with the kit. The only difference is the picture of the one I just got has a notch in front of the right rear wheel well (exhaust cutout?). If anyone has built the 1990 kit am I correct about the purpose of the notch? Jerry
  20. Brian thanks for the advice. If the Easy Off doesn't work I'll p/u another kit on eBay.
  21. Snake Hello. I used the yellow E-O. Put the body hood and bumpers in a large rectangular Tupperware with a snap lid. I'm attempting to remove The Rustoleum paint and primer in one paint (2 coats) maybe the second shot will do the trick. Hopefully.
  22. Thanks Stan No pitting or scarring of the body ( of the car )??
  23. Okay building a Monogram 1991 Davey Allison Havoline T Bird. Sprayed 2 coats of Rustoleum Gloss Black Paint and Primer on her. Got a definite haziness so put Easy Off on her to strip her last night. This morning took her out scrubbed and rinsed her. Paint didn't budge. She's in her 2nd application of EO. Getting concerned (insert panicky here) that I have effed the body up. Anyone with suggestions I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks Jerry
  24. Mark be careful. It hazed on me and looked suspect. So I decided to strip it and start over so I'm on my 2nd Easy Off coating ( the first time around didn't lift the paint/primer I put 2 coats) sprayed the Easy Off again this morning. I got some pitting it appears. Hoping I didnt EFF it up or I'll be sicker over it more than I am now. Gloss black is a pain in the caboose I really didn't need. I should've listened to the expert modelers.
