  1. Have changed my mind and repainted the cab, hood, and fenders in Rustoleum Sail Blue. I like it much better.
  2. Hello all. I am in the midst of my early 1970's White Freightliner project. Building it as an early 1970's type unit. The colors are Tamiya TS-11 lacquer for the cab, and Rustoleum Colonial Red satin finish for the frame and associated parts. About 50% completed at this point. Will keep posting as I go along.
  3. Thanks to all for providing me with reference pics. All of your works are superbly done and it seems that I will have some good ideas from those pics. Update on my project the frame is about 85-90% complete. Just have to prime then paint her. Weather (humidity) has not been an ally this week. After I get the frame done I can then meet up with my old nemesis. The AMT metal axle. He and I go together like oil and water. Could use some suggestions on getting the axle to fit into the back of the wheels properly. I have a pin vice I bought over the Summer. I guess use the largest bit in the set would be the best way? However any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  4. Mark very nice job. Very realistic. I love those old school slim line cabover's. Quick question on your weathering what did you use to make it come out so good. Working on a White Freightliner SD fleet tractor and could use some advice. Thank you. Once again very well done.
  5. Thanks Brian, my friend Michael Capasso who sold me the kit included the 4300 sleeper as well as sending me the extended frame rails. Hoping I can do it justice. This is a long term project that I hope to have completed by next April to display at NNL East in 2019. I also have a KW K123, Pete 352, Diamond Reo 116, and a White Freightliner SD I have to finish as well. Also I was working on the Mack R685 but had a mishap with the aft axles and will have to play plastic surgeon and go single drive with her using the rear springs, and axle from the Ford LN8000 straight truck. I am my own worst enemy sometimes.
  6. Thanks. The hood stripes need to be addressed a bit. Tried to go for a sort of AMT White Road Boss striping effect but the little blemishes are bugging me to no end. Not sure if I should strip and redo them when I paint the new cab I just got, or just lightly sand them. Also the sleeper has some rough spots on the bottom corner at the rear of it, as does the front left fender. I think I can sand and reapply the paint and get a better result out of it. I also have to attach the bottom fenders and paint them as well. I keep telling myself it'll get better project to project. Waiting for the better to start kicking in. It could be worse. If this was 1977-78 I either would've attached some M80's or just drove it out a second story window. The last 40 years has taught me to have a bit more patience.
  7. Hope things are getting better. Looking forward to your progress on this project. Hang in there.
  8. Hi all hope everyone is well. Started my AMT White Western Star project about 6 months ago then put her on the side. I am using the sleeper from the AMT IH Transtar 4300 and have extended the frame to represent a western type unit. However just got a replacement cab yesterday from a friend as the one I originally had was warped pretty badly. I also am contemplating either using the kit supplied Cummins 350 or borrowing the Cat from the Revell USA Peterbilt 359. That being said I am posting pics of the hood and sleeper. They are painted in Rustoleum Fern Green. I have to wait a bit on painting the cab as the weather is very uncooperative currently. Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.
  9. Jason, Very nice job thus far. I have this kit along with the Don Prudhomme "Yellow Feather" kit that are on my to do list. A couple of quick questions if I may. Are you using the kit supplied tires or aftermarket? The fronts leave a lot to be desired and am attempting to source them aftermarket. The rears may be as changed well but unsure at this point. Also what brand blue did you use for this project? Thanks and looking forward to your progress on the kit.
  10. Just saw this online
  11. I like it. Very well done.
  12. Ken very nice. You certainly know how to capture the trucks just right. And this paint job is very nice.
  13. James, Good morning. thank you for sharing the pictures. I have seen that unite previously and am amazed how awesome it came out. well done.
  14. Brian Hi quick question how did you cement the interior bucket in place on the Freightliner? On test fitting my SD I notice there are gaps when you look from underneath. Thanks Jerry
  15. Another superb build from The House Of Ken. Well done.
  16. Quite nice 4300 Ken.
  17. Dan, Wow both the CN-900, and the LN-1000 are awesome. Thanks for sharing. My Freightliner is coming along slowly but surely. Putting the final touches on the frame tonight before I paint her. only issue I have thus far is placing the livery (company) decals on the passenger side door. The decals I am looking to place are all too large to not overlap the peep window. The only solution I have are as follows: 1) Paint over the peep window then I can use the decals. 2) Place the decals on the side of each fuel tank. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks
  18. Ken, Very nice job. These never go out of style. Would be hopeful it may get re-re-re-released in the future.
  19. Ken, Brian WOW thank you both for sharing these pics of your work. Very nice. I like all of them well done. Brian I especially like the detailing on that resin White 7400. Ken, is the Pete 352 actually now a 282? Also how do I make the rungs for the steps on the White Freightliner?
  20. Thanks all. The cab will be probably a 1970-72 era White Freightliner SD (the kit is from 1977). Will start posting pics as soon as I can. Assembly at this point is in it's infancy stages. But I can reveal that the cab has been painted Tamiya TS-11 Maroon, and the frame and assorted frame parts (axles, fuel tanks, battery boxes, drive wheels, etc.) will be painted in Rustoleum Rustic Orange Satin. Sort of a Virginia Tech paint scheme.
