  1. that's the review I did on the Hobby Designs kit I just got. The kit comes with the seat belt material and the metal hose fittings. Definitely worth it. I am most likely going to end up buying the Revell kit to compare parts, and I will see if the PE kit will work with that also. it should.
  2. I can't believe people are getting bent out of shape over car jokes. They're cars. Significant cars yes, but they're still just machines. I didn't think it was possible to get offended by something like that.
  3. My friend's uncle owns Calloway, they have a car on loan there, he told me it was pretty close to the hole.
  4. guys I dropped the ball on this one, sorry. I am looking for some I can use on the Cobra 427. The IDA's I think are the right ones. I will contact R&MofM. I have not ordered their stuff before but I hear nothing but good things.
  5. He's not wrong, but it doesn't mean Danica's presence doesn't mean anything. Inevitably, somewhere down the road, women will be racing and winning, and Danica will be remembered as someone who initiated that. I don't think it's fair to say she's not a race car driver (Kyle Petty), but if she's not winning, she's not winning. And Richard is right, because she's a woman, she's garnered a lot of attention and it's been good for the sport.
  6. The singing was live, the instruments from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers were pre recorded for that show. They released a statement explaining why. Whether or not you like the music, the singing on both parts was great. I'm not a fan of Bruno Mars' music, but he is an extremely talented singer.
  7. try mini motor and reckless racing 2
  8. some pictures might help
  9. I think the idea behind that, which comes from a lot of the sports car model guys from what I have seen, is that it is done with the intention or idea that the body will be sanded at some point. Using a certain amount ensures you can safley sand the color layer enough to do what you need to do without going through to the primer. I don't think I use an ounce, but I use 1/2-3/4 ounce on most cars, because I'm not very good and I have a pretty good idea I will need to sand it smooth.
  10. do you have any pics of the chassis?
  11. The single reason I got back into building 7 years ago, after not touching a model since I was 10, is phot etched pieces. i have always had an attraction to detailed miniature stuff and when I saw what was available for detailing stuff, I sold all my RC cars and got into models
  12. No. Same reason modern baseball cards won't be worth what the old cards are. People wise up and start collecting, rather than sticking them in the spokes of their bike.
  13. I have seen some amazing carbon fiber done by spraying black or gunmetal, then covering with women's pay hose and spraying a metallic silver
  14. I meant the details. Was it an accident, did he kill himself intentionally, etc. It seems clear at this point he overdosed on heroin. A lot of people will dismiss him as a junkie, and that's fine, but addiction is brutal. Some people just can't climb out of the hole
  15. it's not so black and white. Until you have been truly addicted, or been close to someone that has suffered from it, you won't understand,
  16. I read that he had been clean for 23 years and only recently fell off the wagon. Truly sad. A lot of addicts dies this way, taking their "usual" doses after a long dry spell. it hits their body hard. I don't know the circumstances of his detah obviously, but this is certainly plausible. I'm sad to see him go.
  17. Thanks for that info. I'm not worried too much about accuracy. I'm going for a nice detailed build to show off all the nice parts.
  18. No problem JC the wheels are very crisply molded. Almost identical to the gT40 wheels (which are Fujimi? I think)
  19. What kit, or what resin caster would I find some nice Weber carbs from? The Historic Racing miniatures are too small and the Grand Sport Corvette are too large. Does the Revell Shelby Cobra have that option?
  20. This is looking pretty tasty right now http://www.flickr.com/photos/angad84/5963270978/
  21. Yeah, the Fujimi engine is pretty sad. It's a crisp mold, but no detail. No cylinder head detail as far as bolts or any indication of spark plugs. The heads and the oil pan don't even have room to put detail hardware. I think I will buy the Revell kit to steal the engine. On the other hand, I have the Historic Racing Miniatures engine kit for the GT40. The Webers in there are amazing, but too small. The Webers in the Grand Sport kit are too big. i'm kind of in a pickle, I'm pretty much set on doing the 427 with Webers.
  22. Thank you The Hobby design set is for the Fujimi model specifically. I'm not sure how different they are. I am actually looking to replace the Fujimi engine with another because of the lack of detail, but I need some new Webers as well
  23. As much as I like to buy locally, Media Mix Hobby in Singapore always has everything in stock and it's quick shipping. I also got a killer PE set for the tamiya 993 GT2
  24. Sorry guys, i was typing this at 1 in the morning and the baby started screaming for food. I went out and fed him , then passed out on the couch. Here is the PE set from Hobby Design Some really nice fittings for the radiator as well, and seat belt material
