He was great in The Last Castle (I think?) With Robert Redford. He was very hateable.

My fathers day gift should be here within 10 weeks.

I saw several on the showroom floors around southern california when they came out. Maybe there aren't so many around anymore. I would really love to get a new GT Premium, with the Brembo brakes and suspension package, but it's still a reach for me right now. Someday. Good luck finding the car you want. -
two years ago I picked up one of his books at Costco, hen ended up reading every single one in order. I haven't read the newest one though. What a shame, great books.

By far, I would prefer the glass roof coupe. I'm not a fan of performance convertibles. -
I have an extra seat from the Tamiya 993 GT2 kit. It's this seat (without harness) http://forum.spc.org.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11934&start=0

They're kids. If you expect kids to not touch stuff, especially things that look like toys, then you're in for a world of hurt.

I have never been to a mode show. I keep finding out about them after the fact and my schedule is hectic. I'd LOVE to go. If I had a model I felt was presentable enough to enter, that alone would be an accomplishment for me.

1/12 FERRARI F40 by Protar FULL DETAIL BUILD! (UPDATE 1-22-14)
Quick GMC replied to Kennyboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
It would have to be something I'm really interested in. I don't really care for the Enzo or Carrera GT. If they keep going like this, I expect the 288 GTO to be their next 1/12, which I am interested in. Your build is coming together very nicely. -
I build Tamiya kits. If they made the same subjects as the American companies, I'd be in heaven. I haven't had a Revell kit yet that was this frustrating. I didn't want to use the hood scoop. I trimmed the hole perfectly, It's not a HORRIBLE kit, it definitely has it's issues. The frustration lies mostly with the fact that I had it all painted and done, and the final assembly killed it. Some major parts didn't fit like I thought they would, so it just killed any enthusiasm I had. I have no interest in finishing it. With that being said, sometime down the road I may do this kit again, but I'll know exactly what I'm up against. Back to my main point, I'm curious if this kit is a good representation of what you can typically expect with AMT, or is this one of the more finicky kits?

If Tamiya ever does a 1/12 F-40, I'm selling everything I can to get it. -
Hands down the best one I have seen.

compared to Revell kits I guess. The molding on this kit was globby. The body was excellent, I must say, but the rest took a lot of work. I have no doubt this builds into a very nice piece when you put the time into it, but like I said, my time is becoming less and less, and I would rather stick to something that doesn't require as much work to get to that point. I do like that they have everything separated into individual pieces though, which revell seems to be doing more of.

I was a Jaguar tech at a high end dealer. we had one in for a day or two. I have been lucky enough to drive some of the best performance cars in the world. It would have been more, but I couldn't fit in some. The Lotus Exige was by far the most fun. If I had money, that's the first car I'd buy. -
This kit drove me up the wall. With all the time I spent trying to clean up these parts, I had enough when I went to put the engine in and get everything all wrapped up. The headers hit. Turns out I positioned them wrong. I took them off, carefully re-positioned, etc. got everything all together, now the hoot won't fit because the engine is too far back, but the headers hit the engine mounts so it won't go forward. I'm done, it's in a box, and it's the nicest incomplete model I have. Anyway, I'm wondering if this is an accurate representation of AMT's typical kit quality. I have only tried to build this one. I have an AMT Shoebox Ford I have plans for, but not if it's going to be like this. I know, as a model builder, I should expect some work. I have two jobs and a kid on the way and my time is becoming scarce, I'd rather spend it building quality kits that require a little less prep time.

Cobra Daytona Coupe in plastic.

I have the Fujimi Cobra, and it has the parts to build the 289 I beleive. I'll have to confirm when I get home. -
Let me say this; I paid about $900 for my DSLR a few years ago. I still have issues. With the right lighting, my cell phone takes just as good pictures. Listen to these guys, it's all about the lighting. I went on Amazon and bought a few things. A Photo light tent and a two-lamp setup from Cowboy Studio. They aren't the best quality, but they'll work. I replaced the bulbs with these 55 watt carbon flourescent bulbs. they are BRIGHT, one in my garage makes it like day time at night. http://www.amazon.com/CowboyStudio-Fluorescent-Daylight-Balanced-Bulb/dp/B001ML011Y/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1370981335&sr=8-10&keywords=55+watt+cfl+bulb

What makes a pro modeler a pro ?
Quick GMC replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have always considered someone a professional, regardless of the field, as someone who is regularly paid or commissioned for their work, has somewhat of a portfolio and a history. When someone tells me they are "a professional", it means nothing. It means they have the ability to convince someone to pay for their work. Their are many professionals in my field that do not deserve to make a living doing what they are doing. The title of professional has long since lost it's meaning. -
I have used the green Frog Tape. It leaves a sticky residue, I wouldn't recommend it for modeling. I have not used the yellow. Tamiya tape is the best I have used so far.

Your work is improving tremendously. I have been watching your builds for a while now over on the other forum. Keep it up! This one turned out great, especially for the size.

I have never worked with tubing before. I bought a few pieces. I want to make my own exhaust and stuff. Two things I am really wondering about; 1. Bending tubes. I know they make small tube benders. Are there different sizes, what should I be looking for? Like a little hand-squeezed bender. 2. Flaring tips. Some of the side exhaust tubes are flared on the end. I used to help a guy flair brake lines for custom cars back in the day, but it's been 10 years and I can't remember what the tool is. Does anyone do this?

I used to work at a tire shop when I was 18. I would never let tires leave like this and I always washed the blue off the lettering. This is just sloppy, I don't care what kind of tire shop it is. I would be pretty pissed off if my truck rolled out like this.
