1/12 FERRARI F40 by Protar FULL DETAIL BUILD! (UPDATE 1-22-14)
Quick GMC replied to Kennyboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I had the opportunity to drive one. I'm 6'3" 235, I couldn't drive it, even with my shoes off. pedals are too close together and I didn't really fit. My all time favorite car. I was really bummed. -
I have 2 crowns and 6 veneers. The crowns were done twice. I knocked my teeth out on a bike, like shattered them in 100 pieces. The first crowns were cut with a metal cut-off wheel, then pulled out with pliers. My other teeth were ground down with a grinding wheel, then veneers put over. The oral surgeon is my cousin. She had one foot on the chair when she was yanking my front teeth out. I was awake the whole time, although HEAVILY sedated. I think you'll be fine with a cavity.

Del Sol? maybe they did him a favor. I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. I really hope he gets his car back. Start asking questions around the neighborhood, I'm willing to bet the guys were from nearby. I had a $15,000 quad stolen from my friends house within a 2 hour window. Cops were useless, I ended up finding out who it was within 3-4 days by asking questions. Ask the local shops, craigslist etc. Cops usually wouldn't be remotely interested in pursuing something like this. -
Food Dehydrators & Paint Dryers

I have found a ton, from $30-$200+. I'm assuming any of them will work, just take the tray out? I don't want to spend more than I need to, is there a specific issue with the cheaper ones? -
I hate silver and I hate flake, but somehow I really like this. It looks just right. I have this kit, I'll definitely be watching.

I didn't know you could do that, thank you

God be with our friends and families in Oklahoma
Quick GMC replied to Danno's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
A friend of mine works out of Waldwick, NJ. He drives through that area to go to houses, and the sobering reality that hits him when he drives through destruction and ruined lives, people that are homeless and broken, to go polish marble floors for rich people, he said is really getting to him. It's hard to not say screw it, and help out. He does help out, but you gotta work to. It's hard to see people in these situations. I'll gladly take our huge earthquakes over tornadoes and hurricanes any day. -
I know I'll get a lot of hate for this, but Kiss is one of the most overrated, horrible bands that ever became popular. Gene Simmons is an amazing performer and business man, but their actual songs are just filler, IMO. I put them in the same category as Niki Minaj. One helluva show, great performance with no substance.

Blown HEMI coming from Chrysler

the model years are always presented during the previous year. I think what they meant is it will be presented as the 2015 model, when it is presented next year. Probably at LA auto show or something. I know you know this, I just had to write this to make myself feel better -

A friend of mine is Fire Chief in Shawnee, right outside OK City. He was missed by the tornado, but he's going to be busy for a while. This is really bad. -
Beyonce is an amazing performer, but her actual music is such garbage. Justin Timberlake's spoof video of her was 10 times better than the original.

Any retard with their parent's money can go to a studio and make "music" now, that's the problem. It's the same argument for any other industry. Cheaper options are available, prices have come down on many things and more people with horrible ideas have means to do it. For every wannabe that makes crappy music, there are a million people who have horrible taste in music that buy their BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. I like good music, from any genre. I listen to the lyrics. The majority of music put out today requires no actual musical talent, other than hiring a good producer to do the mixing and clean up the sound. You can make a top selling album today if you suck at singing or playing an instrument, which are pretty much the only two things that mattered before.

competitor to the V10 in what regard, a straight line? I can put $10k into my pickup truck and make it a competitor with the v10. That fat loppy challenger won't be keeping up with a Viper any time soon where a steering wheel is needed. -
take apart one of those electronic ciggarettes and see how they work

Paint Booths & Safe Ventilation?
Quick GMC replied to Synister's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I am not really having any issues with the booth, I just thought I'd ask if there were any recommended changes. I got the new fan and I figured I'd might as well duct tape up a new box, as it costs less than $10 Just wanted to make sure it was too big or anything. Just re-did the model room and a nice clean booth would look good. -
Paint Booths & Safe Ventilation?

Possibly. Also, the way I have the booth set up is next to the window. I made a thin wood panel that is the same size as the window. I open the window and fill the opening with the panel. The panel has a 3.5" vent hose that goes to the fan, so the fan sucks the fumes and paint and shoots it out of the window. I think everything cost about $50. $30 fan, poster board, scrap wood, and a dryer vent hose and duct tape. -

I made a paint booth a while ago. It's white poster board duct taped together into a 5 sided box, obviously open in the front. I have a 50 CFM cieling fan, the cheap $15-$20 one, The paint booth has accumulated dusted paint everywhere, which I'm realizing is an indication I am spraying my paint too dry, resulting in the issues I'm having. Anyway, I see a lot of your paint booths and they are smaller, or more shallow than I have mine. I'm wondering if the exhaust fan will perform better if I make a new box? I bought a new 80CFM fan. The box is 20x15x15 (depth is 15") I don't technically need that much space. The Should I put a filter inside the fan assembly? I bought some dirt cheap house A/C filters, I can cut to size and put under the fan vent cover. -
How Do I Use A Wash Over Lacquer?
Quick GMC replied to ScaleDale's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
No, I use it right over the alclad, but I am careful to only dab the tip into a corner or the creases. If you go back and try to push it around, it will ruin it, but if you dab and let it be, it should flow and be fine. TEST though, to be safe. Always test.
