I own an online store in another industry. We're a small company. We do okay and we're growing, but it costs MONEY to stock everything. A lot of the stuff we sell we keep in stock, others we don't because it doesn't sell often and it ties up capital to have it sitting on the shelf. I wouldn't automatically assume they're lazy. It doesn't make sense for someone to spend money to keep something on the shelf that doesn't sell often. If you order an odd part that you might think is normal, they probably won't have it. They'll order it when you order it, and probably order and extra to keep on the shelf for the next time. I have two businesses, and the one I mentioned I take no money from. My partner and I take all our profit and invest it into inventory. This allows us to grow and expand, but slowly. Retailers have to spend their money wisely, ESPECIALLY when you're in a very small, niche market like model cars It's hard to earn a living off items that are priced sow low. Sure, resin stuff is expensive, but there are a lot of materials involved that cost money, and time to cast the parts. Unless you have a smooth operation and a huge percentage of the marketshare, say like one of the bigger name resin body guys, it's hard to get out there and let people know. THEN, there's that threshold of getting orders out on time and getting flooded with orders. Someone comes on here and says "hey, these guys are awesome". Well that 2-order week just turned into a 10-order week and they have to buy (and wait for) more casting materials, spend more time, customers get tired of waiting etc. there's a point where you can maintain your output, and a point where you have to cross that line and get help. Help costs money, which means less capital invested in inventory. It's a battle, every day, for small business, especially when you have a ton of competition. With THAT being said, We have a number that goes to both our phones, both of our personal cell phones are listed, both our personal emails are listed and our company email is listed, as well as our facebook page and we are constantly on a number of industry forums. We are ALWAYS available. lack of communication and ignored emails is unacceptable.

what about stripping Zero paints and Tamiya paints. Will the 20% water/acetone work? Lacquer thinner will literally melt the plastic.

I have a temper too, but modelling helps a lot. If I get stuck or break something, I move on to something else until I have a plan to fix it. I don't have to finish, no deadline, I can do whatever I want. Modelling after work helps me stay calm throughout the week. As someone who has lost a fortune in the RC car world from selling off everything twice, don't get rid of your stuff. Just put it away until you want to build again. I dumped off thousands of dollars worth of stuff for hundreds and it cost me thousands to get back in again. It's the worst thing you can do.

in that price range you're looking at a netbook, which does not have a cd drive in it. You'll either want to look for used, or up your budget to $350 or so, where you can get exactly what you're looking for. Best Buy has some around $350. You can go check them out.

Enamel is easy to polish. I sand with 1500 if needed, otherwise 3200 micromesh and up, then polish with a compound. I use Duplicolor engine enamel

I'm not sure what is going to be more difficult for me, learning how to use one of those, or coming up with the money to buy one.

I know I'm new here, but I frequent a lot of other forums on a lot of other subjects. Posting in any thread, or starting a new one, will bring it to the top, depending on how you have your preferences set. Start a new thread? it's at the top. Post in a 10 year old thread? It's at the top. Even if the photos are gone, the thread goes up. People will see that there is a new response and generally click on it. Yes, you will get more views and more responses in a thread at the top of the general section than the top of a specific show-oriented section. How many of those people do you think actually NEEDED that info? Probably less than 1% if any at all. Someone that NEEDS the info will go to the appropriate place. More attention to your post doesn't mean anyone benefited from it, it just means you got more attention. Your comment about being for profit and whining that you are the customer is ludicrous. I don't subscribe, I don't plan to. I came here to learn how to build better models and hopefully someday help people build better models. I want to learn more about nostalgic racing etc. People that constantly whine and even mention "being the customer" and complain about not getting their way is just childish. It's not your forum. Go start your own forum with your own money and have nothing BUT a general forum and post everything in there if that's what you really want.

50+mph winds blowing walls of sand is preventing me from painting tonight. I'll follow your suggestions when I get a chance. Supposedly this wind is expected for 1-2 more days. What did you have to start sanding with? I don't mind the sanding, it's just when I have to start low and really put some elbow grease into is when I'm over it.

JFK library was confirmed as a detonated device, not a mechanical fire. So far 3 bombs went off. They have found 2 others and pre-detonated them. They also found a suspicious duffel bag outside the hospital where many of the injured were taken. They found video at the mall of someone leaving a back[ac and running out.
