  1. Thanks for all the comments guys! espo, that was a good read, thanks for the info.
  2. Thank you. Love the user name. I'm a bit of a Mopar afficianado myself, I own three of them. Albeit, one is a Caravan ?. I've not heard of the club. I'll send you an e-mail. Wasn't the 350 a one year option?
  3. Thank you. The air cleaners come from the Johan 1962 Chrysler 300.
  4. Thanks, that's a possibility. I was also considering a bumper from a 57 Fury, which I think, is available in resin.
  5. Thanks guys. Yeah, lot of work taking that side molding off. I think I used a chisel tipped exacto blade to get the bulk of it off.
  6. Bought this kit at a swap meet and immediately tore into it. I was inspired at the time by Steve Bouttes? custom Oldsmobile he was building in a dark green. Don't think I reached his quality but I tried?. Shaved the side trim and most everything else, except the door handles. Lowered it quite a bit, had to raise the driveshaft tunnel in doing so. Removed the rear bumper and wish I would've filled in the rear roll pan. This too, was a strip and repaint as the testors clear I used was an older can and wouldn't dry, even after sitting for 2 weeks. The paint is a duplicolor GM pearl green touch up paint from Canadian Tire cleared with Tamiya ts13. The roof is Tamiya racing white. The interior was flocked and the rear and front seats are the custom pieces from the 62 Pontiac Catalina. The door panels and rear package tray have tuck n roll made from Plastruc panels. The engine is the kit supplied mess. It looks mainly like a big block Mopar to me so I modded the intake to resemble a big block and added the distributor to the front and added my own cast copies of Johan air cleaners from the 62 Chrysler 300 kit. I made my own Lucas style headlights using pieces from the same Catalina kit, the wheels too. I can't stand the front bumper and wish I would've done something different, I might still change it eventually. Was aiming for an early sixties custom.
  7. I tried to go for a period correct color, seemed like there were a lot more brown cars in the late 70's/early 80's........And you`re right about the rotary rims, they were actually available on the real cars.
  8. Thanks for the compliments!
  9. Thank you. Painted with testors aluminum, dry brushed testors brown for the rust and then went over it with Tamiya dark brown and black panel liner.
  10. Awesome. Been wanting one of these for a while now, but they go for alot, if you can find one. I`m currently working on the Fujimi Toyota Cresta gx71. I just stripped the first paint job as the two tone didnt work out. Fun fact: this car is also called, wait for it, Toyota Corona.........? Nice build.
  11. Very nice job, love the paint! The gold rims and blue go together well.
  12. Looooong time lurker, casual commenter/know-it-all. Been a member for awhile and thought I should post something. I have got a lot of inspiration and helpful advice from all of the posts on here, great community. Photos were taken with my phone, sorry for the quality. It's the Revellogram reissue. Body had a good twist in it and the front of the hood stuck up an 1/8th of an inch, had to massage it quite a bit. Had to strip first paint job(tamiya pearl light blue) and didn't have enough in the can for a second paint job so I used tamiya ts-1 red brown. Rotary rims are resin that I purchased of eBay, and stuck some parts bin tires on them. Mirrors are from the parts bin as well. Interior is a mix of tamiya acrylic and enamels. Windshield fit was horrible so I made my own from some clear plastic I had laying around. Put up a bit of a fight but overall I'm happy with it. Questions, comments, criticism, all welcome.
  13. Nice builds. Are those 300zx rims on the Gloria?
  14. Looks good. Gotta get me one of these. I think these are one of the better looking Thunderbird designs. Test drove one about 18 years ago from a used car lot, went all right, loved the supercharger whine, shoulda bought it.
  15. Very nice. Are those kit wheels and tires on it? What`s the paint? As I`m Canadian I gotta ask what is the New Zealand touch? I ask for a friend........
  16. That`ll give ya nightmares.
  17. Beautiful build. The weathering is spot on, and I love the name on the door! Very clever.
  18. Very nice te37. Orange suits it really well, I just finished this same kit a couple of weeks back.
  19. Great stuff!!!! When you say you used a Magnum body, was this a kit?
  20. This pair of Cats are really well done. As is your R model. I enjoy looking at your builds and seeing your creativity. In fact I started on my D8H after seeing yours!!!!
  21. Very nice!! Now I wants one.
  22. Very nice!! May I ask where are the rims/tires from? And are the black stripes on the side from the kit?
  23. That looks great. I love kits of uncommon cars. This is Tamiya, right?
  24. Very nice execution!! Where did you get the resin dual snorkel air cleaner from?
  25. Nice, great build, such an obscure subject. Makes me want to do a 6 now.
