  1. Absolutely beautiful ! Outstanding work ! I plan to build a 1/24 scale version in the future . I could never ask for better reference than these photos .
  2. Again, this is an amazing model. I have been wondering if anyone knows if this car ever looked like the MPC box art, i.e., with the blower on top of the motor, and no wheel fairings. From what I've read , this car only ran a few times and was unsuccessful. All the photos I have seen of this car have the blower in front . Maybe the MPC people thought it looked better that way. Regardless, this is a beautiful model of a beautiful dragster.
  3. I've been involved in this hobby since the sixties and I must say that this is one of the most beautiful model cars I have ever seen. This thing should be on the cover of the magazine. This is truly a piece of art. Great work !
  4. I haven't been on here for a while, so this may be old news, but I just saw on the Model Roundup site that the Soapy Sales Challenger Funny Car will be rereleased next month ( December )
  5. Thanks, Mike. I think I talked to you at a couple of shows. You had some great models.
  6. thanks for the comments. I'll have some more stuff on here soon.
  7. I finally got these done. I used Liquitex acrylic, Createx, and India ink on these. The bodies on the red and purple ones were airbrushed with Createx sprayed through an Iwata Revolution airbrush. Everything else was done with paint brushes.
  8. Thanks for the comments . I hope to have these finished by next week. I will repost them then.
  9. Here are some 55 chevy cartoons that I did last night. They will be finished with India ink and acrylic later this week. Iwill post them again when they are finished.
  10. A few more. I just love this car !
  11. Here's a pic I found of the altered version.
  12. Thanks for the comments. I love drawing with a black Bic pen. Just don't let your art get exposed to the sun for very long. It will fade.
  13. Hot Rod Magazine July 1967
  14. The van is ball point pen . The funny car is ball point pen and water color.
  15. Nice bunch of funny cars ! Love the paint and the stance on that Corvair.
  16. Looks good. I just started on the body of the same car. I have the Hot Rod magazine article on this car, but you can't see much of the chassis. I guess I'll have to use my imagination on the rest of it. Can't decide whether to use a modified Bantam Blast/ Wild Willie chassis or scratch build one. It would be nice if you could share your references on here. The Psycho Mustang is on of my all time favorite drag cars. I just like the way it looks. It was ahead of it's time in that it had that narrow altered chassis ( similar to what was to come in the 70's ) and all the other funnies had the wider Logghe chassis. Again, good job.
  17. Decals by Lucas has the decals.
  18. Great looking models. Love the paint on the Falcon.
  19. Thanks for the comments. The Malco Gasser Mustang also held records in the BB/ Altered class. The Multi Maverick ran in both the Gasser and Altered classes. The Altered classes weren't just Fiats , T Buckets and Bantams as some may think.
  20. I built this Camaro a few years ago using the body from the rereleased Hugger Camaro kit with the chassis scratch built fro Evergreen plastic rod and the tin work made from aluminum roof flashing. The engine is from the MPC 57 Chevy gasser kit. Front wheels are Polar Lights. Rear wheels , front and back tires are MPC. Combination fittings and braided line from Detail Master. Small fuel line fittings are crimp tubes ( used for making necklaces ) that I got at Michaels. Paint is Testors Lacquer. This was my first attempt at using this much aluminum on a model . It was a pain in some places, but it turned out o. k. I don't really know what class this car would run in. By 69 the funny cars had gone to the logghe type chassis. Maybe it would run inone of the altered or gasser classes. Any way , it's one of my favorite models and I hope everyone enjoys seeing it.
  21. The later Revell funny car kits are readily available on ebay, Spotlight Hobbies, etc. and they are not that expensive. You could get most of your reference from one of the chassis in those kits.
  22. I've always liked this kit. With a little work, you can make something really special with it. By the way, the chassis fits great under the AMT 55 Chevy, if you want to build a Pro Street 55.
  23. This may be old news, as I have been away from the hobby for a few months, but I just noticed that Tamiya gloss clear is back on the rack at my local hobby shop. Great to see it ! I always had excellent results with this paint.
  24. This may be off the subject , but I wish Round 2 reissue the Piranha drag car. The reissue from a few years ago had the wrong front wheels and did not include all the decals. I just don't understand the thinking behind this. Hopefully Round 2 will do it and do it right . They have done a great job so far, and I'm sure they would do a great job with this one too.
