I've heard about the Bare Metal Foil before, but haven't picked some up. I might get some in my next order.

Alright, so I got the engine halves painted in Flat Aluminum. I'm going to go back over the engine block itself later in the Green that's on the outside of the car once this layer of paint dries. I'm not sure if I should do the bell housing in black, or just leave it the way it is now. The heads are also going to be the Aluminum color, to give it that touch of "aftermarket" look. I'm not sure if I want to try and use the rear suspension on the newer 'Vette, or not. I'm not sure. I also got the Chrome trim painted on too. I still need to do the side trim, so you can't see that part yet. LOL Anyways, that's all I've gotten done so far. More updates later this week hopefully.

Understood. I just didn't want to come on here sounding like a rude person, and make the build not fun for you. It's an AMAZING car. when he was in Oklahoma for Drag Week, I got to meet him and see his car when he was down. It was the same year that RoadKill on YouTube did their HRDW episode, and he broke the sprag in his Trans. BEAUTIFUL in person. -
It's been a while. I got so far into other people's builds that I didn't think much on mine! lol Anyways, I've gotten the Engine halves together. I decided to go with PappyD340's Idea of an LT1 in it. I'm using them out of a '96 'Vette kit. I'm not too sure what I'm going to do about the intake on it, as it's some form of a "Cowl Induction". But I'll get that figure out later. No paintwork done yet on the engine. Also debating on that. LOL But I think I'm going to go with the same green on the outside of the car, on the block, and make the Transmission Flat Aluminum. I'll have more up soon this time, probably late tonight, or early tomorrow.

Hobby Room/Workbench questions
Mizozuman2 replied to AMT4EVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just sit at my desk. But I love reading these kind of threads. Gives me ideas on what to do in a garage, if me and my mom were to ever move before I move out. -

I was thinking the same thing! LOL -
I don't know if these are actual kits sold by someone, but if they aren't, and you do the paintwork yourself; It'd be pretty cool to see one painted in a Father/Son scheme. VERY nice looking nonetheless.

Don't really want to be "That Guy", but I'm going to point it out anyways. Jeff Lutz's '57 is Twin Turbo, not SuperCharged. -

Is there a way to save this thread in the website, or do I have to bookmark it? I'll most likely forget about this in the next hour or so, and it would be amazing to remember this, as I have A LOT of wires that aren't used. I've got an old desktop that doesn't work (Internals fried themselves to bits). So I can get TONS from that. Thanks for these great tips! Really helps for an aspiring model. -
I'm sorry, but your last 7 words made me think of a good movie...

Yeah, I understand that. I know plenty of people that way. I'm just glad that I'm not that type of person, and am able to take the criticism. one of the things I dislike the most, is when someone can dish out Constructive Criticism, but doesn't know how to take it. It's aggravating.

Interior leather paint color?

That's an interesting name for a paint color... LOL Thanks for the info! -
Should've quoted this in my previous post... Oops! I feel as though 99.99% of people don't understand what constructive criticism is. It's meant to be constructive. I "learned" not to fear constructive criticism when I was in 5th grade. I still remember that day in band class...

Being fairly new to the model building scene (Compared to a lot of the people here), I have to agree as well. I currently build Box Stock, and I don't think I've got half of the normal things I do on every model down. I've got 14 kits right now, and I've got 2 of them that I'm working on. I only do that because it keeps my mind wandering about, rather than focused on one thing. that seems to help me, and keeps me interested with the hobby. I've built 10-12 kits in what's close to the past 2 years. I don't feel as though I've even started walking yet. I'm more of at a crawl. I just did my first trunk lid cut-out and it took a lot of patience to do. I haven't touched the scratch making of the trunk walls, because I feel like I'd mess it up. so I set it back, and haven't messed with it for a while. But I'll come back to it one day. I don't like abandoning kits. I feel like it's a waste.

Hey everyone, I'm curious on what color paint to use for a "leather"-ish look on the interior of a '65 Galaxie 500 XL. It's not really a "seat bolster" since it's not bolstering anything, but that's the area I'm talking about. (The darker of the two colors on the seat). I was thinking it was a beige color. Just thought I'd ask for everyone's opinion on here. Thanks!

the Galaxie 500XL from AMT comes with a jack, and some other trunk knick knacks! I'll have to pull those out some time. And a spare tire cover too! -

I'm sure everyone knows this one, but the '66 Pro Street Nova comes with the engine on the stand. It's shown on the box, so not sure if it counts. -
Definitely some beautiful things in this thread. You're makin' me want to try some scratch building myself. Haha

"Yeah, if you could just give me a few years to do that... I only have my Airbrush." LOL Very cool. thanks for sharing!

Oh goodness... Yes! I'm a big fan of Domestic vehicles. But from the 90's into early 00's, overseas made some phenomenal looking cars.

What do you drive?
Mizozuman2 replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Currently, I'm driving nothing... So, I'll just tell you what my (Logical) Dream vehicle is. 99-02 Chevy/GMC Crew Cab Short bed with a 6.0L in Red, Black, or Blue. CAI Exhaust EFI Live Basically things that would help me to haul things, without having to move up to a Diesel, or the humongous 8.1L. it would also be a Daily Driver. Later though, when I'm not doing the ranch hand work I'm doing now, I'd like to add on some real "Go Fast" parts to the engine, and beef up the drivetrain. (Turbo, Intake Manifold, LT Headers, injectors, stronger internals... Etc.) (Yes, I'm 17. No I'm not a "street racing hooligan"(I've had a friend killed because of someone's ignorance and street racing). No, I'm not a "moocher" off my Mom. This truck and everything associated with it would be paid for by me, and only me.)
