I have an STP Lotus-Ford that would be good for parts (front spindles missing); think the heads and block were assembled but I'll have to check - is that the one you mean?

Congrats on just getting it done, plus a nice paint job - fitting the cab/hood/fenders is tricky; if you channel the cab over the fender unit about 1/16, everything lines up. Of course then the door panel bottoms interfere with the floor, so more trimming... At least the sum of the parts has a very accurate look to it like most of the other Monogram 1/24 kits of the period.

Looks like the wheels and tires from the Monogram '32 Cadillac would be a big help in improving the Auburn's appearance.

I spy a Minicraft 1/144 scale Douglas C-54 on the right side of the fourth photo - nice! Any more Minicraft kits there? Did they have the Lindberg Mercedes vintage racer in there with the Stutz?

Looking at the rear wheel wells, I'm thinking slicks and a big rake like a T-bucket - keep us posted!

Actually, after a bunch of searching, I found that there never have been any 6-lug spiders. No biggie - I'm not that far along anyway. Sorry for the detour! Now back to the topic at hand...

Thanks Bill! Now if I removed the centers and trimmed them I could make six-lug spiders (if there ever was such a thing?).

How much time do you give it between the black and the clear? That engine looks terrific!

Could someone please post a front and back photo of the six-lug wheels? They might be good for the '67 Chevy pickup I have in the works.

Hope they do the A990 first - really want to build the Chicago police car from Cooley High without having to do another roof transplant. Maybe a longshot, but how about adding a photoetch grille and wheel spokes?

Yep, and the mirror could be tilted with a thumbwheel to get the best angle for the driver. Nice idea, but did any of you Buick owners have trouble with reflections or glare at night?

Too bad nobody was running T-birds at NASCAR or road courses in '71 - a Holman-Moodyized version would have looked badass. If you don't like it, you could always build it as a famous movie car:

In my experience it made the plastic (AMT 1962 plastic) more brittle but didn't seem to affect it externally. I wrapped a piece of cloth over the car and soaked that rather than pouring it in a bowl so I used less liquid. Now I just use it with a brush to dissolve stubborn spots or stains that the purple stuff didn't remove.

Another gem, Tulio! It also demonstrates what a good job AMT did on the tooling. I bet it was a lot of fun getting the teeth out of that grille (been there, done that).

Same here and I've been very happy with Flickr, less so with Photobucket. I post photos on the H.A.M.B. "Vintage Shots from Days Gone By" thread and I got sick of PB shutting off my photos for a week or so at the end of the month due to "bandwidth usage" - never mind that I'm nowhere near my photo capacity. No such issue with Flickr.

Just got the reissued '53 Studebaker a couple hours ago over at HL with the coupon - and was disappointed to find it had the old '60s Firestone 500 narrow whitewall tires rather than the new vintage-style wide whites I was expecting (since the box art shows wide whites). Is this a factory error that Round2 would correct, or am I out of luck?

Is the Premier Renault 1/25 or 1/32? Just saw an unbuilt boxed Hubley Dauphine go for over $300.00 a week ago - might be time for Hubley's successors to look for the molds. If that Ranchero is the styrene version I certainly would be willing to take it off your hands! At least you could flip 'em all on eBay for a tidy profit.
