I'd look into the Pyro '36 Ford, perhaps? -
Moebius 1964 Mercury Comet Pro Touring
ChrisBcritter replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Can vouch for panic - my '86 LTD's throttle stuck open just as I got the 10 Freeway headed toward L.A. I tried to shift it into Neutral but I panicked and jammed it all the way into Park instead, thus sliding down the freeway at a 45-degree angle to the lane with the rear wheels locked and the engine screaming until I shut it off. Thank God the traffic was light and nobody hit me. Had it towed to the dealer and they cleaned out the throttle body but couldn't figure out why it stuck - so I traded it in two days later. -

Lost Horizon (1973) , especially with its fertility dance scene, was an unintentionally funny movie that co-starred Bobby Van.

Coming Soon from Atomic City's JoHan line of new kits
ChrisBcritter replied to thatz4u's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wonder if there would be a market for them to have 3-D printed or resin replacement parts for vintage Jo-Han kits? Maybe correct interiors for the '62 Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler? Or how about some correctly-shaped (not flat) wheel covers for some of them, especially the '62 Chrysler? -

Ha ha ha - hey, wait a minute - that one's mine! Roof donor for one of my '58 convertibles; trust me it wasn't savable - took a lot of work to get the paint off and fit it to the "good" body: What's left of it; I later cut the hood out for somebody on the forum: And now back to our scheduled programming.

I wish I could. I think it was Tim Boyd who posted the info on another thread a couple years ago?

Believe it or not, Round2 somehow still has the mold for the 1952 Pontiac sedan promo body and did a test shot. If only I could get them to run a few shells...

My First Car
ChrisBcritter replied to Wickersham Humble's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You've seen it before, I think, but here it is again. In 1976, shortly before my 16th birthday, I wanted to get an old car for my first ride. I was also figuring to find one in my parents' hometown of Paducah, KY because cars didn't rust down there like in Chicago. While driving around West Paducah, we spotted this '50 Plymouth by the side of the road: The older gentleman owner, Mr. Lapoleon Bridget (looked him up and he was only 54 at the time), was asking $360 for it. I offered him two hundred-dollar bills and shortly afterward my uncle and I drove it home to my grandparents' house where I shot these photos. It was faded Shore Green with three '56 Hudson Rambler wheelcovers; the horn worked and the radio didn't. Only 72,000 miles and it ran smoothly enough but my uncle said it was starting to get a rod knock when he revved it. So what happened to it? Not much. I drove it back and forth from the back yard to my grandparents' garage a few times, and left it there when my folks told me it probably wouldn't make the 400-mile trek home without major repairs. By 1980 my grandfather had died and my grandmother sold the house, which was to be torn down for the local hospital's expansion, so my mom and my uncle sold it to some hobbyist from Kevil, KY for what I paid - $200. And... R.I.P. Mr. Bridget. -

I've seen the Henry J listed in 1/25 on eBay; the file definitely needs more work (front of hood and the grille are too flat).

Oh yes! In school we'd be singing "It's about time - it's about space - it's about time to slap you in the face!"
