  1. バカ!それはあなた自身の旗艦です! Tora! Tora! Tora!
  2. OK, let's put this one to bed. The movie:
  3. "Can the Can" was a tough rocker by Suzi Quatro.
  4. Now I see where Revell got the idea for that '62 Dodge dragster! At least they didn't cut up the Imperial or Newport...
  5. Adding detail: Well, I'll notice it Well, it's better than it was (usually referring to detailing one-piece chassis) The more I do, the better I'll get at it Could have, didn't want to (quote from Hank Borger that stuck with me)
  6. Bed head is what I'll get from the pillow on my hair.
  7. OK, a bit more: Set and filmed in rural Texas. Stunt coordinator went on to do the same job for CHiPs but his name is misspelled in the credits. One stunt used a rollover cannon that flipped a car about six times.
  8. New additions making their debut on the ol' leopard skin: Two '66 Ambassador promos. Both were frictions but are missing the flywheel motors; the ivory one has a somewhat damaged taillight and the blue one got a set of AMT Riviera wheels and tires long ago. A previous owner did a mostly great job painting the trim silver so they'll probably just get a good cleanup and hit the shelf until I get the bumpers and wheels rechromed - I have some Marlin wheelcovers which were optional on the real thing so those can replace the Rivies on the blue one.
  9. Keep your eyes peeled - solid and running CA car just sold at an estate auction a couple days ago for $3000: More info and photos here: https://bid.bidfastandlast.com/ui/auctions/131190/18045357 I imagine the wheels and the old repaint kept the bids down. It was originally Nautilus Gray metallic with a red vinyl interior.
  10. OK, how about magazine clues: The make of the long vehicle they're in is also the name of a fashion magazine, and the plot turns on this image the two women find in a book of the occult - actually from National Geographic's June 1937 issue (had to censor it a bit):
  11. The late master modeler Tom Piagari had this same project in the pipeline - converting a '64 back to a '63 by making molds of the '63 trim off of a promo, stretching and shaping the molds to straighten out the warp and casting copies of the trim.
  12. Workday worries can get you down, so try Mother's Little Helpers.
  13. No guesses? OK, some hints. Four main cast members: #1. Member of an acting family. Nominated twice for Oscars - once for writing and once for acting (not in this film). In his first movie (the third featuring the same main character) his car was the '53 Chevy that was used as Wally Cleaver's car in Leave it to Beaver. #2. Kentucky native. Did some TV, then his first (uncredited) movie role was in a Cary Grant picture. Like #1, he also drove a Chevy convertible in one of his movies - a red '62. Died rather young. #3. Starred in over 250 episodes of a TV series over many years. Her first (largely forgotten) film co-starred Alan Arkin. #4. Also starred in over 250 episodes of a TV series - but over a much shorter period. In her first movie, co-starred with Robert De Niro.
  14. "Keys to the M.G. will be in his hands", sang Bobby Bloom in "Montego Bay".
  15. Very cool! The Partridge Family had nothing on you guys!
  16. Probably an easy one: "I don't believe a school bus on Sunday!"
  17. The French Connection.
