I stroll sometimes through the toy departments of super markets, always in the hope to find something useful... One day I found a bag, filled with figurines of cowboys and Indians, with horses, a prairie wagon, and a canoe, and even such a stuff. Quite conveniently, almost cheap, but great stuff. Insofar, someone sees the great potential in such stuff... I bought it and took the prairie wagon at home, immediately attacked. I took the frame and the engine from the Popcorn Wagon, the front axle with wheels from a Bad Medicine kit, some backwheels and began to play. So looked earlier this compilation: Well, it was already a bit too colorful... I was fortunate that the frame exactly fitted under the car floor. The whole cooler with the horseshoe is homemade, as is the steering and the new rear wheels. The rear axle is from a truck, now with a shortened driveshaft. It is mounted on leaf springs, from the front suspension of a Pinto Street Rod kit. The barrels are from the Beer Wagon. The skull comes also from the Bad Medicine kit and was been modified, so that it now acts as an air scoops... But look at it yourselves, here are the pictures:

Mr. Gasser
hobbybobby replied to hobbybobby's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Thank you! I've looked everywhere, for a replacement for the plastic hair in the kits... Unfortunately, long time without success, until my wife wanted to throw away, this one: My wife bought a winter jacket, and this is the detachable hood, which she did not want to wear anyway... I took it immediately to me, cut off a piece and fit it to Mr. Gasser`s head... Sometimes it's that easy! -
Thank you very much for the kind words! No, Scott, these ones are a little larger in diameter, the hand grips are too small. I have taken the following product, and turned out on my lathe: These are "rubber springs", we need them as low-holder for punching: It gives different colors and many diameters and lengthen. The idea was good, but the treatment exhibits problems... The color of this rubber spring shows optically their hardens and the black is the softest (approx. 70 shores)... Thus one can turn it only in a device with very sharp tools, or work on it with rough sandpaper, I had to use both variants and after much work and sweat, this looks now in such a way: These are aluminum tubes: At the back of the new aluminum rims I turned a larger recess, in order to press the rims in. After polish, I receive a stepless transition in the rim wall and a very deep rim! Here is an example of the parts: These are a few that I have produced:

Ice 'T' It's a Super Cool Ice-Totin' Machine Original year: 1970 Company: Monogram Scale: 1/24 Designer: Tom Daniel Tom Daniel designed this mod drag strip version of a wild ice-hauling machine and called it... what else? The ICE 'T'! This li'l chiller will leave 'em cold at the starting line, the Chevy 396 Rat Motor with high ram intake manifold and dual Holly carbs will make the hottest fans shiver with delight. You'll freeze at the sight of that groovy interior, the Block of ice on the tailgate has chrome ice Tongs, raking front end, concealed headlights that open and close. When Tom Daniel was a kid, he didn't have a refrigerator, he had an icebox and the iceman came with his big tongs and delivered the ice to him. Most of the delivery trucks of the day were modified C-cab designs, so TD combined that memory with his version of a futuristic C-cab delivery 'T' to deliver the ice. Now that's cool! Almost boxstock, with a few small changes: Removal of the side fuel tanks, ...wired motor, ...enlarged opening in the front nose, ...the wheels, on back with aluminum sleeves, turned and polished, with rubbers, carved from a motorcycle handlebar grip, ...the rear lights are LEDs, ...real metal chains, ...the color is a metallized, pearl ice blue thing... Hope, you like it.

Vielen Dank, Jürgen, Ich wünschte, ich hätte die dazu passende Werner Figur gekauft in der Vergangenheit, es gab wirklich eine, auch von Revell... Thank you, Jürgen, I wish I had bought the matching Werner figure in the past, (there was one, also from Revell)... Here is some more Information: "Werner is a fictional character, appearing in a number of German comic books and animated films, and was created by Brösel (Rötger Feldmann). Werner is the most successful German comic character of all time with over 10 million books sold and over 13 million film admissions. The Werner books are known for their anarchic humour, often based on Northern German dialect and puns. The character of Werner is based on Brösel's own experiences. Werner is an unemployed biker who likes to modify his motorcycle — which constantly gets him into trouble with the police and the TÜV. (Technischer Überwachungs-Verein, English: Technical Inspection Association) Werner also likes to consume large amounts of beer (known as Bölkstoff in the comics). In his younger years, Werner was apprentice to plumber Meister Röhrich - the situations and characters in these stories are based on Brösel's brother Andi's apprenticeship years. The bike was drawn in a comic , but the artists brother was so enamoured with it - that he brought it in to existance! The cylinder came out of an old tractor, as did the wheels, the tires were once made for a Ford Model A and had spent several decades in storage somewhere, (found virginly wrapped in paper in a Danish tire store), the seat is an actual shovel and the fork is made from forged iron and ash (wood). Due to a lack of space, the petrol tank is part of the handle-bar arrangement, although it runs on petrol, this looks more steam-ish than most steam motorcycles- it goes ka-tchunk, ka-tchunk like real machinery schould... Custom made engine block, 1440 cc displacement, the original aim had been for 1000, internals, cylinder head, DOHCs operating four valves via rocker arms, Generator from a Japanese compact car, Silencers (yes, they are there) came from dirttrack bikes, one in each pipe. Modified Harley brakes and a Harley transmission. The engine is, obviously, a stressed member, and due to a lack of foresight by the designers, the four bolts holding the cylinder and head assembly to the block are the only thing that keeps the bike together (note how the steering is bolted right to the cylinder head, as are the frame tubes). It delivers about 50 - 60 something hp or thereabouts, makes a noise like a steam-engine breathing angry spanners and is, of course, utterly and totally illegal in any conceivable way...

Depth Charger - Aqua-Rod AMT, original year: 1972 , John Bogosian. Straight from the Davy Jones' custom shop comes the "nautical-but-nice" Depth Charger! It's a far-out aquarod with rear mounted "deep six" engine, "scuba-styled" body and "gobs" of Neptune-inspired accessories. Turn on this "bubble machine"! Additional features include: "peekaboo" periscope guidance system, "snorkel" exhaust, "sharkshooter" spear gun, pontoons and "scuba stopper" anchor. A holy grail of show rod enthusiasts, AMT's "so-nautical-it's-nice" Depth Charger is back! A super fun kit from all angles, this deep sea diving dragster has waves of chrome goodies and an expanded original decal sheet with a sea of options. I've always wanted to have one of these kits. Man, I've been waiting long for it... When I finally got it I decided to build it just like the box art, but then I decided against that balloonie wheels, so, I replaced them with two of my homemades. At first I had no idea at the combination of colors, the result was then done with Tamya spray cans. The interior is a aqua green, acrylic matt paint, FIN by WACO. A few small mods here and there, hope you like it.

The Go Cart

The Go Cart The Aurora Godzilla's Go Cart: http://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart/popup_image/pID/15934 The Aurora Godzilla's Go Cart kit was manufactuered in 1966. A 1/12 scale model kit molded in green and yellow plastic, this was kit number 485 in the Aurora line. This kit is considered by many to be the single most desirable and most elusive of all Aurora monster kits, and the box alone can cost a small fortune. Aurora was forced to stop production on the kit by Toho because it apparently "demeaned" Godzilla's trademark. Meaning, one supposes, that Goji wouldn't ride a go cart... Soo... The Polar Lights Go Cart: http://www.timemachinetoys.com/polarlights/PLGoCart.JPG Reproduced from the original rare Aurora kit by Polar Lights, in 1999, this kit was only on the market for about a year, before Polar Lights discontinued production. Polar Lights did not have the proper licensing to produce and sell this kit with the likeness of Godzilla. The subsequent law suit made the production run and public sales limited. I have the Polar Lights version, The Go Cart... The main body of the cart was sprayed with Tamya Spray cans, light Blue, covered with clear, the rest and Goji himself were hand painted in enamels and acrylics, and I dry brushed a lot... The kit has always been a grail for me, It took many years to get it, and even more to build it, finally I made it! Almost boxstock, a few small changes, the wheels are modified DW `s, therefore the brake had to be repositioned and some engine details... The only thing missing is this, eye glass, I've searched everywhere, no idea where that is, so I leave this hole in the nose, if this part shows up again someday... Here are the pics, hope, you like it.

Thank you very much for the kind words! Yes, this kit has a lot more potential than many want to admit him... ... and that, I'll show you another time...

Sand Shark Custom-Styled Show Rod Original year: 1975 Company: Monogram Scale: 1/24 Designer: Tom Daniel Watch out for the Sand Shark! This mean monster is the most menacing machine you'll ever lay eyes on! That potent Pontiac mill with eight Webber carbs and ram tube injectors would bang out enough power to make this custom rod a winner on the quarter-mile, city street, or show rod circuit. And dig that comfy interior with contour seats, chrome "T" shift lever, and handle bar steering control, all protected by a sleek cleat plastic canopy. It's gotta be a perfect hauler for surf boards or scuba gear, but the biggies that add a different twist are the super Sand Shark decals and sinister-looking fins. Tom Daniel creates the Sand Shark show rod in 1975... Steven Spielberg directs the movie "JAWS" in 1975... I suspect Spielberg was inspired by this TD creation and well... ... you know the rest of the story. This was done at the end of the line between TD and Monogram, Tom had started this kit to be a 'Sand Dragster', with huge, ribbed rear tires... and as an aside, it was made from the bones of the 'Dog Catcher'... Someone at Monogram finished it to this... This is also a older one, I had built it many years ago, I chose to do the "Sand Shark" in a more suitable "Shark" color and I wanted a challenge, to try to make it look nice! Boxstock, with the exception of the rear wheels. Original rims, embedded in turned and polished aluminum tubes with formula 1 slicks, scale 1:20. Hope, you like it.

Tank you, Bob! Partly you're right, yes, but also, unfortunately, the pictures are too bright and do not show the actual colors... -
