  1. Thanks Mark and Chris-I appreciate the compliments! I got some stripes laid out on the cab-hopefully everything will look as straight after the paint as it does with just the tape on it...
  2. Good for you Chris, this kit had a few quirks I felt-looks like you did just fine.
  3. Both absolutely gorgeous-nice work!
  4. I got rid of a Monza kit recently-I had no idea it could be made to look so good-nice work!
  5. I haven't seen too many of these-cool build choice.
  6. Thats a real beauty you've got going there! It doesn't matter who's built it or how many times-thats why I (and I might be speaking for others) come here-to see everyones work-even on the same kits.
  7. I'd love to get one or two of these when they hit the shelves too. Love the stock red one and the Trepaneir built car-both beautiful in thier own respect.
  8. Love that color combo-stellar job!
  9. Not much is glued yet Ed-lol! Lots of dry fitting is one thing I've learned. I've taken a little poetic liscense on the stock boom to make it look more like the one on the truck-pics of that coming soon!
  10. I actually did prime-sandable gray is what I use most of the time. Until you just mentioned the colors, I just remembered it was the Destroyer I used for the cab-not Bigfoot. I guess red is notorious for bleeding through, but after sanding, shooting silver, and re-priming with whire primer I'm pretty happy.
  11. I got some resin Budd style wheels from BNL-I was extremely pleased with the quality and how quick they came. The only downside was they're 4WD wheels and Dad's wrecker wasn't-but that only required a little trimming to hollow out the hub area. So this is the early mock up-thanks for looking!
  12. After trimming the rear flares, lots of sanding, and covering it in a coat of silver, both halves matched pretty well. The wrecker body is going to be yellow anyway, but there's a yellow stripe that starts on the front, and I wanted to make sure the yellows were going to match over the same whites. The drivetrain is mostly stock except for the exhaust, which I made out of solder after watching some guys on here. For my first stab at it I was pretty happy.
  13. I started using a Bigfoot cab and chassis, and the Midnight Cowboy wrecker body, as that was the closest to the Holmes body on Dad's. The first problem I encountered, and got solved here by some helpful folks, was getting two different colors out of the same can on my base coat. I was perplexed to say the least.
  14. I'm building this replica of a wrecker my Dad ran for a few years back in the late 70's into the mid 80's. If all goes well it'll be a Christmas gift this year.
  15. I like what you're doing Randy-BNL has been very good to me lately also!
  16. What you got so far is great Trey
  17. Beautiful shine and colors-very nice!
  18. Very nice job-adding this to my wish list!
  19. Love the stance and the underhood detail-nice job.

Just finished one of these too and I agree about the quarter windows-what a pain. Love your engine choice-looks great in there!
  21. Absolutely gorgeous-nice build.
  22. This is a great kit-I've finished one and have a spare I'm unsure what to do with so far. You're off to a nice start!
  23. Welcome and good luck with this! I can't add anything really that these guys haven't already covered-take your time and don't be afraid to ask questions.
  24. Loving this-had a 58 in the family for a very long time-thanks for jogging those memories!
