  6. that looks horrible..........in a good way great job on the weathering, looks amazing.
  7. Daniel, on the Pete I'm building with the multi part cab, i built the cab, painted it, then after my interior parts were detailed, I installed them one part at a time. I assume this kit is set up the same way with the interior parts. i had to install the dash and then slide the floor panel into the cab so it would all fit. don't know if this will work for you on this kit, but that's how i did my Pete. your build is looking great so far, keep at it
  8. not sure hoe i missed this, but i love it! keep up the great work, it's looking great
  9. thanks all more progress.... getting down to the end on this one, hope to have it about done by weeks end. thanks for looking.

  11. looking good, love the springs, nice work.
  12. Brian, can't tell you how many times i start out with one color in mind, botch the paint, strip it, and end up going a whole 'nother direction............
  13. cool idea for this build. the beauty of the old AMT kits like this is that nothing really fits anyway, so you're adapting as you go anyway, lol. look forward to this coming together.
  14. wow.................looks fantastic, very realistic looking, not sure what else to say except wow..........
  15. that is one heck of a build! just stunning from front to back, well done!
  16. well, it's not going to match the engine, but i went this route with the body, interior is also done and is now in the cab. making pretty good progress and am in the home stretch i think
  17. that clunk was my jaw hitting the ground man, what a beautiful build, well done!!
  18. wow, that looks awesome! you are really raising the bar, great build.
  19. Gator, thanks. Dennis, no problem. well, snafu city with the paint job masked off the green portions and proceeded to lay down the black, within seconds it looked like i had used paint stripper on the whole thing! not exactly sure what happened, both paints were testors lacquer. only thing i can figure is when i wet sanded the cab and hood i either had something on the paper, or something migrated off my kitchen counter and got on the plastic/paint. so i unmasked it after it tacked up and came to two conclusions, i didn't like the color combo [looked better in 1:1 than in scale] and it was going in the pond, so as of last night it is stripped, cleaned and ready for primer again when i get home from work. now to come up with another color combination.............
  20. excellent work on the interior, motor and frame look equally nice. having painted a body 3-4 times, i feel your pain, but eventually they turn out flawless
  21. thanks Dennis. that is testors 'sublime green'. can't remember if it's under the 'model master' line of paint, or regular testors. its also lacquer paint.
  22. thanks guys got some color on the cab and hood the other night, hope to get the black painted tonight
  23. looks great Jim. will you display that at the fire station?
