    1969 super bee

Took it a show yesterday, and was pleasantly suprised….
  2. I am not a fan of that body style, but holy cow, that looks dynamite! Just a fantastic build all the way around, love the under hood detail and the trunk is a knock out as well, excellent build!

Thank you everyone , appreciate the comments.
  4. Love the charger! Monte is pretty sweet too!
  5. A lot of the problem is related to emissions and gadgets as I see it ( from a GM/Chevy dealer tech perspective), every time they finally got something right, it got scrapped ( yes, the venerable small block and the 3.8L v6), oil leaks finally got solved, cam issues, oil pressure issues and general drivability issues solved, rock solid dependable, welp, need more gas mileage, toss those out, let’s run crazy timing chain layouts and displacement on demand with variable cam timing, direct injection, secondary air injection, let’s run electrically controlled thermostats, throw a turbo on everything, toss in a transmission with 6/8/9/10 speeds, make the valve body virtually unserviceable, make the interior more entertaining than your living room, make your phone hook to it so you can be distracted, and when it doesn’t work, let’s rewrite all the software, well, while we are at it, let’s throw in some radar that’s wired so if the LAN circuit goes down, it makes the car not start, oh and for good measure, let’s make everything run on a different module…… good times, haha….
  6. The problem with the excessive brands in the GM family was that over the years they all became the same, just different badges, Cadillac cimmaron comes to mind as an earlier one, and it just progressed from there.i could go on and on about GM, been with them for almost 40 years…..
  7. Good news is the LS engines still eat cams and lifters , just like the old days, but now it takes 15 hours to fix it, and a lot more parts….
  8. That’s a great looking build, engine and engine bay looks fantastic!
  9. WOW is about all I can muster for words at the moment …. fantastic!

Thanks for the kind words. Haven’t built much lately, so it feels good to get something decent off the bench😁
  12. Great looking olds!
  13. Revelogram kit, painted it a year ago, decided it was time to actually build it, haha. Color is dodge light bronze metallic from scale finishes, distributor is from MAD, AMT parts pack red line tires and wheels are from Mean Machine Models. Came out ok for a fairly low detail kit, hope you like it.
  14. Remember how easy it used to be to replace a thermostat? Not anymore….
  15. Blast from the past, lol. Thanks all, it’s still one of my favorite builds.
  16. Been acquiring 1/8 kits this year, finally snagged one of these for a price I could live with
  17. You’d amazed at the things that are used in cars for noise reduction, from tiny rubber boots on door lock actuators to actual noise canceling ‘speakers’
  18. Oh man. I used to travel to buffalo for work a lot a few years back, stopped and talked with Fred a bunch of times, very nice guy, very knowledgeable and reasonable prices on everything.
  19. Ya, it’s a thing, haha. I sold off 200 kits and still have over 800, if that wasn’t bad enough, I got into HO scale trains and all of the cool stuff that goes along with that, so, ya, I guess I’m no help🤣
  20. These are scale finishes color shift paints over a semi gloss black
  21. For what you’re into for versus what it’s worth open is still a huge profit if you sell it, as long as there is a kit in that box, you win 😁
  22. Our corporate thing is quite funny to me, the parent company owns a lot of car dealerships, like over 100 of them, almost all of them are in major metro areas, where as my place of employment is kind of in the sticks, ‘we’ know what works and what needs to be done, but have to follow the corporate structure, you can imagine the crazy things that happen due to that.
  23. And the saga continues…, so I get to work this morning, and we do everything on computer, punch in/out, flag on and off jobs etc., so I fire up my pc, log in, punch in, get all my daily work tabs up and going, message comes up, corporate needs to update my machine, shutting down in three minutes, they got me 3 times today with this, uh, you had all weekend to do this, and you gotta get me first thing on a Monday?? Once that was done fooling around, the GM site needed updating, and then was lethargic….., happy Monday🙄
  24. Ah, the joys of auto repair…., been doing it since 1987, GM dealerships, have seen a lot of crazy things/repairs/co workers and customers. I think my favorite part is the disconnect between people and their vehicle, the general public has no clue what is in their vehicle technology wise. Years ago, I could remember all the trouble codes and could track issues down rather quickly, today, there are as many trouble codes as there are nuts and bolts in a car, pure insanity really. Add in the era of instant gratification we now live in, people don’t understand why we can’t fix it in ten minutes, because our scanner tells us what’s wrong. Infotainment systems suck, not only do I need to understand how the cars system works, I gotta be a cell phone tech as well. I also find it funny that manufacturers put all these safety features in vehicles, but then strap a big screen tv to the dash so you can be distracted by that….. ya, fun time to be a wrench😁
