  1. This is the engine from the AMT 1966 Chevy Nova Pro Street kit. As you can see in the photos, one head sits significantly forward from the other, is this the way it is 1:1? Or, do I need to bring them more in alignment with each other, which is what I've always done in the past, just wanted to clarify this for myself once and for all. Any info is much appreciated! Thanks! Without the heads attached: With heads attached: View showing rear deck:
  2. Bill, I'm already prepping the Nova block/tranny pieces so it looks like that's it. Maybe the Lindberg Dodge (black with red interior) next and then the Thunderbolt. Thanks for the input.
  3. JC, what is that white (?) material under the lap portion of the harness belts?
  4. Thanks you guys, I think I'll go with the Nova then. Hey Carl, what's up!
  5. I've been working on AMT 'Super Boss' funny car kits for a while now (lol ) and I need to work on a kit that is actually buildable with good prep work. Insights into the choices I've made here are very welcome. I have all of these kits, but , have never built any of them. My first consideration is the kit pictured: AMT '66 Chevy Nova Pro Street kit. The other kits being considered are: 2) Lindberg Color Me Gone 3) Revell '66 Penske Racing Corvette 4) Revell 'Hot Rod' Russ Davis Ford Thunderbolt Thanks!
  6. The black on that '56 is something to behold.
  7. Looking good JC, nice work on the air dam.
  8. JC, How's the painting going?
  9. VERY nice Bob! You did a great job on this, maybe the best I've seen of this kit. You did some really nice detail work, like the stripes on the seat for instance, I don't see any blue on the white, nice job. Engine bay looks great too. Were there any fitment issues? For instance with the front clip being separate.
  10. I like it, love the color.
  11. Very nice job! Looks authentic.Outstanding chrome work. Did you have any fitment issues?
  12. Way cool. Looks mean and nasty.
  13. Cool buggy.
  14. This is so good it's embarrassing. That might be the best paint job I've ever seen.
  15. Gerry, do you know how to contact him? I do not.
  16. Is there any chance that these decals still exist? Does Fred Cady even make decals any more?
  17. Awesome work Jeff, the stacks on the engine are killer.
  18. Great looking build, that paint job is killer!
  19. I've found that spraying solvent based paints inside does a great job of keeping out fly's and mosquito's.................. Actually, I do the same thing, paint outside with cans, it's an adventure, but , I'm having some success with it at this point. I love painting.
  20. Do you use rattle cans as a matter of preference on bodies generally?
  21. Like Steve, I've been using Super Clean lately, (same thing he shows in the photo) , and it takes the top layer of chrome off in minutes, then I let it sit in the stuff for several hours, sometimes over night , and it's down to bare plastic, best stuff I've used so far. Beats the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH out of bleach.
  22. Very nice!
