  1. Thanks Randy, and , Ray. I've got a piece of plastic rod, that almost goes in there, I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone, Here's a picture of some wheels that I want to mount to the axle shown, the hole in the wheel is too big. What's the best way to securely mount the wheel to this axle? I have thought about using Tamiya liquid cement mixed with styrene dust to create a filler, and , then re-drilling the hole. Is this the best way to do this? Thanks.
  3. Great project idea Gary, you're doing a fine job. Gene
  4. Looking good Joe, nice work! What color(s) for the sides, and , transport?
  5. Beautiful car, I love the yellow and black on that car.
  6. Well, here it is, another update, in a matter of days! Looks like the axle from the '53 Ford Pickup Street Machine kit just might work,. it's actually much closer to the front axle used on the PDA car than the kit axles in the rear engine cars. I think I can make it work. I cut off the attached leaf springs and some other stuff, getting it, and , the tie rod ready for,.........Alclad! The kit (HUG-Hemi Hustler-Chezooom) axle and the kit tie rod are shown as well. The plan at this point is to cut off the hub assembly/brake discs (or, whatever the round things are 'supposed' to be) from the kit axle, drill the appropriate sized holes and mount them on the Ford axle, hope it works, if not,.....I'll do something else! Thanks for looking in! Keep your lamp trimmed and burnin'
  7. Don't be so hard on yourself Bill I love Top Gear, British version. The American version, not much.
  8. I looked for that belt kit online, hard to find, where did you get your's JC?
  9. I just looked at interior colors on the Hamtramck site and I may go with black for the dash and steering wheel. Carl, you were right on the money man! And i already have Tamiya 'black' paint, in a rattle can of course. Gee, I still need to separate the roll bar assembly from the frame I 'was' going to use. It's going to be black too, so I can paint them all together. The front axle from a AMT '53 Ford Pickup Street Machine looks like it might just be what I need to widen the track up front, I can use the spindle/hub assembly from the kit axle, yes! From what I can see in pics and have read, there were no front brakes on the PDA car, it had rear discs.
  10. I bet it is, trying to get the hardware to move over/around on that adhesive sounds, 'sticky' But, they look close to real from here.
  11. Nice work Brizio, you're a fine builder. It's fun to watch you work.
  12. Wow Cameron, that engine looks great!
  13. I just tried Art's suggestion and it's working very well, thanks Art. I'm sure that all of these can be used at some time, in some way, I appreciate all the input. I think I'll try the putty stuff for my next mock-up.
  14. Some great suggestions, thanks you guys! I just got out some really thin metal rods I had, gonna try that with a drop of CA first, I'll let you know how it turns out.
  15. woooooo, I like the x-acto blade idea, I'll try that, thanks Bob. If that doesn't work I can try the super glue method, thanks Roger. Thanks you guys!
  16. Thanks you guys. Bill, I thought about the drill method first but talked myself out of it, think I might give it a closer look.
  17. Niko this is looking great, what a cool car it will be.
  18. Great job Jim. Very compelling project.
  19. Nice job on the seats JC, they look 'really' good. What marterial did you use for the belts?
  20. Hi, I'm working on a Revell parts pack Blown 427 FE Ford motor that has a coil the size of a small sun flower seed and I'm trying to figure out a way to secure the piece for painting, either brush or spray. The best thing I've not tried yet is to attach the piece to a cut off tooth pick using Liquitape or some other kind of adhesive. Does anyone know of an effecient way of doing this? Thanks!
  21. Nice looking AWB Falcon John, that color is yummy.
  22. That looks really cool Joe. Great colors, love that purple and red in the trunk.
  23. Carl, I was going to use white on the door sides of the tub but didn't. I'm debating whether or not to use some kind of blue for the dash and steering wheel to approximate a stock factory blue, because the PDA (Plymouth Dealers Association) car used stock Barracuda stuff for the interior; dash, steering wheel and door panels, it even had carpet! Oh well, we'll see. I can't wait to see red/orange headers on the car. The final push on the engine should start in a few days. Joe, from what I can tell after reading more about Kristal Klear, it washes off with water 'until it sets' just like Liquitape, which most likely means you're messing with paint thinner to get it off. I think maybe the trick is to use as little as possible for mock-up purposes. Thanks for posting you guys!
