  1. Awsome stuff JC, did you make the flashlight?
  2. Fabulous project Bob, very inspirational, creative work! Keep it coming!
  3. This is looking great Joe, you really are stepping it up a notch. Incredible detail to say the least.
  4. Amazing what you can learn about 1:1 cars on a model car site.
  5. Very nice work Brizio, very cool. Looks very realistic.
  6. Wow, it's nice to have fellow modelers around! What a great thing to spot.
  7. Mike, thanks for the info, It will be interesting to see how the headers line up lengthwise when I put them on. I'm learning a lot about engine because I'm a modeler! JC, and Richard, I've done the flat sanding thing before, not sure why I didn't on this block, maybe I'll make it a regular practice. Frank, I used other facets of the engine to line things up (well I tried, lol), sometimes the tranny ends are uneven, I fixed that. Thanks you guys, I appreciate all the great info, and , help. Sometimes I feel like I'm on my first build. My next goal is to not have the seams show, which is always a challenge for me on engine blocks.
  8. Nice Willard, love the color, and that blown engine looks awesome in there!
  9. Okay, thanks you guys. So, then the headers (because the heads will be offset) are going to compensate for this and be of equal length on each side, or , they too will be staggered slightly?
  10. Wow JC, The front view of the car is stellar, and , that finish on the blue wheels will tighten up a bit with some drying time. Keep up the great work, it's fun to watch.
  11. This is the block/transmission for the AWB Chevy II Nova Streetfreaks kit. I've got it aligned as best I can, but , one side (right side in photo) is further forward than the other, which means the heads will be the same, which means the headers will be the same. How do I correct this, or , can I? Is this the way AMT expects you to build the engine? Thanks, any input is welcome.
  12. Oh well, maybe next build,
  13. Very cool Fabrizio, that stuff looks great! Keep up the great work! You can do it!
  14. You did a great job on this Bill, super nice detail and finish. Display it well.
  15. That color looks great on this car Fred, works very well with the wheels. What color is that?
  16. Looks pretty cool JC, are you gonna have a driver figure?
  17. Nice work Mike. I need to make the spindles 'evenly' round, they are kind of uneven right now. .080" plastic rod fits snuggly in the hole right now. I'm planning on a trip to my LHS, 'Hobby Haven, today hopefully, there's one guy that works there that knows about modeling. Thanks for all the good info, my modeling world would sure be different if it were not for this forum.
  18. Thanks Carl, I may have to put this build aside for a while. It's time to take a break.
  19. Thanks Frank, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet, I'll check out their website.
  20. If I used JB Weld to fill these holes, why would I need to 'work quick' with it?
  21. Ray, I think the '62 Chevy body will look good this way. The color will be imperitive.
  22. Here's the front end pieces almost finished. After taking this photo I noticed some places (little black spots) on the axle where the paint didn't cover, I'm now in the process of re-painting the axle. Unbelieveable, i would have never seen that were it not for the photo. The axle and tie rod are painted Tamiya Silver Leaf over gloss black, the crummy looking spot is where it was attached for painting, (Ouch!) I didn't go with the Alclad 'cause I don't know how much I'm gonna have to handle this stuff getting everything in place. The brake discs are Stainless Steel Metalizer over Fine White Tamiya primer. (The axle is now re-painted). My next objective is to get the front springs mounted to the chassis/frame correctly so that everything else will line up properly. Thanks for looking in!
  23. Rob, Cato, I haven't done anything yet, I thought about trying to build up the spindle but wasn't sure what to use. Cato, is that what you mean for the JB Weld? For building up the spindle? Put the coats on with a brush, or, something like that? A brushette? Could just dip it in the bottle.
