  1. Ok fellas I'm going to kick this thing off with a little recap of this kit. I had already started this kit last November but put it on freeze for another GB thats going on elsewhere and then again for this GB. Here's where it all started. My Tamiya Fw190 D-9 fuselage halves laid out together before any cutting took place: and after carving the front of the plane from the fuselage and the tail fin access panel from the tail: This'll be the update that I'll be using for this beauty:
  2. I feel your pain! This time next week we'll be knee deep in plastic sprues, resin and PE!! LOL
  3. racedriver:Got your change posted pal. roadkill:Good to have you here! Lemme know when you're ready and what you want to build and we'll get it rollin'.
  4. This is gonna be good! Lot's of goodies I see! Will post the changes afer I get off of work Jim!
  5. Wayne:Now that's an in depth weathering tutorial there! I remember seeing something like that on a Vallejo dvd that I have here at the house. I've watched it about 3 or 4 times just for retention sake. You've added a couple of things that aint on that video though. Thanks for sharing that info and look forward to seeing it in action. Jason:Wow! Thats a high parts count from what I can see! I've got a couple of those crushed boxes but contents ok kits too. lol
  6. Thanks Jim! Alot of the detail was robbed from the Hasegawa SBD-4 kit I had in the stash. Monogram certainly didn't go to any length to offer any detail in the cockpit area thats for sure but, hey, aint that what kit bashing is all about? I'm just glad I had a decent kit to "go to " for the extra detail.
  7. I have the highest respect for anybody that builds 72nd scale aircraft and can pull it off to look like 48th scale stuff. Got pics?
  8. Wayne:Man that track looks awesome and I like the stencils. What kind of stuff are you going to use for the weathering? Jason:Looking forward to some pics man! Mark:Hahahaha lol!!
  9. Ok fellas! We've got roughly 3 weeks to go and can't wait to bust this thing off. The clock is ticking...............................
  10. I'll be continuing the rest of this build in the "All the Rest Community Build" on 01 Feb coming up soon! Anybody that wants to join that build just let me know and I'll get you penciled in on the roster.
  11. Nice aircraft and nice build. Indeed it has been said that this was the best aircraft of the Second World War. They certainly look the part. Nice panel line detail as they are really standing out.
  12. No words man! No words!
  13. Greg:Thanks for the congrats. I've got plans for where to move my bench to. I may have to split it up a little but plans none the less. Richard: That bench looks sharp. Sometimes I wished I had a set up like that to make it more living room friendly. Al: Nice bench and nice aircraft stash!!
  14. Greg:Man I'm facing that one too. My wife and I are moving forward with adopting a child. The spare room that all of my stuff is in (workbench and all of that) is gonna get cleared out. I'll be building in the garage this time next year, but hey, I'll still have a place to build! Gertjan:That looks sharp!!!
  15. I usually spray mine at around 30 psi. Broad coverage and decent pressure gives a good smooth coat.
  16. Can't wait to see!! And the appropriate changes have been made to the dates. It's now been extended officially to a year.
  17. Thats cool with me. I'll make the change guys.
  18. I hear ya Wayne! I'm wondering if I should initially extend this GB on out for a year due to the complexity of some of the builds that are in here like yours and Rileys. I can do that if it takes some of the pressure off of you guys so you can take your time with the builds. Lemme know.
  19. Ok ok ok.. I stand corrected! lol
  20. You can't run! You can't hide!!!
  21. ................but if you find a great deal on an old kit at a model show or garage sale it's a perfect opportunity. LOL
  22. At the time I was around 13 or 14 but I got a 1/48 B-1B Lancer and a 1/48 B-36 Peacemaker (both Monogram) . Man those presents where huge!!!! I think that was back in 84 or so.
  23. Cool Mark! I look forward to seeing the build!
