Curbside Pro Touring Style Yenko Chevette....
mustang1989 replied to NitroMarty's topic in Model Cars
Missed this one when you posted it Marty. Your imagination went into overdrive with this car and the results speak for themselves. VERY cool ride and and clever usage of 1/32 scale items and diecasts to make this all happen.- 28 replies

'Preciate it Keith. Still trudging along with this beast. Thank you for that good bit of info Joe and right you are about them not being in combat too awful long. There were a lucky few that managed to get out of being blown to bits but those were far and few and in the right place at the right time. I'm spending more time in the dirt and mud aspects than I am a lot of wear and tear. I may do a small amount of streaking but that's gonna be about it.

I did that on the L/H side road wheels and it was definitely a pain in the neck. 'Preciate the good word Stuart. Thank you for your comments as well Carl. I've managed to get the light and darker chipping effects going on in the well-traveled areas of the tank turret and hull topsides. but think I will be toning them down a bit with some rust oxide in the middle of the lighter chipping. Next up will be some vertical streaking.....

You're coming along well on this one so far Dave. Whatever you do.....don't pack 'er up man as this has been a fun build to follow. In regard to the wooden deck, have you seen the Army Painter Dark Wood Speedpaint? It's color and wash all in the same application and brings out a realistic wooden finish. Here's a wooden deck that one of the members on my forum used this paint on.

Alright fellas. Been a bit since the last update as bench time has NOT been at a premium for me as of late. Our son is leaving for the military the next month or so and we've been spending a LOT of time with him. BUT.....every now and then I get some good bench time and I did just that on Friday. I managed to get the rubber painted on the L/H side road wheels, install some hooks on the side of the turret for hanging things like water bottles, gear and camo netting, applied a pin wash over the details, installed all of the hand holds & handles and applied a dark wash using burnt umber & black oils mixed over the sides and lower sides of the hull. Up next will be the chipping effects using different colors. As it was on the last update to recap..... and how it is now.....

Thanks Keith! It's definitely giving my modeling skills a workout. lol Well........I mixed 60% Tamiya Dark Yellow Enamel with 40% Tamiya White and hand brushed the lines between the color borders of the camouflage and then came back over the lines with some Tamiya X-20 Enamel Thinner and brushed over the lines causing a blurred / worn effect. I also acquired an Aber metal gun barrel as I just didn't feel right about the two-piece OOB gun barrel. This will be getting primed and painted soon. Next up will be some gloss coat in the areas of the turret and hull where the decals are going to be positioned and decals will be going on after that.

I'm surprised that I missed this one as I just love these aircraft. The latest Revell release seems to be one of the better kits it seems like and your take on it sure is a good one Keith. -
After I took a second look at it, I just didn't feel right about it .....so.......I added a little something to the mix. Before: aaaand after: Then I started working on the second spare road wheel and have these 1/25 scale lugnuts just laying around in my spares bin and they are working out perfectly for stuff like this.

That is just crazy about the two different textures in the back on this ship Dave ......but........as per your good skillset.......you've managed to yet again overcome this obstacle. You pulled the trim along the rear of the ship in dang near flawless fashion as well. Your efforts here are to be commended buddy. This is just off the charts.
