  1. Cool idea. If you are doing this on a painted body will any left over glue come off okay with a damp cloth, or what do you do? Richard
  2. I have a couple of old rails that I have been looking for whitewall slicks for. If you don't mind telling me, whose tires are those? Thanks.... P.S. One fine job you did. Your model is why I'm in the mood to build one. Richard
  3. I spent so much time looking that my wife had to bring me dinner around page nine. Had a lot of fun though. Thanks....Richard
  4. At the momment nothing I can say seems right, but my heart and prayers do go out to you and your family. Richard
  5. The car is cool but the disc really set it off. Are they aftermarket or from a kit?(the kid in me has to know) Richard
  6. It is a thing of beauty. Could you post a picture from the front(only angle you didn't take).I love the grill on the 66 a lot more than the 67. Richard
  7. Every couple years my wife and I go to Kansas City To the Heartland Nationals on the bus. The last time(two years ago) I brought all my model and supplies that I bought on the bus in a shopping bag and no-one said a word(had to change buses in Denver and no problem). Did end up having to talk modelcars with some people on the bus though. Richard
  8. Thanks for the answer. If I'm ever in Finland I will have to pick some up. Richard
  9. Looks real nice(and straight). The color is great. Who's paint and color of blue is it(if you don't mind that is ). Thanks a lot Richard
  10. Kustom and hotrod model magazine? How can I get a copy(or two)? Richard
  11. Thank you for the pics. I bet you had fun time. Looks like one awsome show. Richard
  12. After looking at ALL of the pictures I think I'm ready for a nap. Thank you both for the grand tour. Richard
  13. Winning a trophy is cool in that you can look at it for many years and " remember when". Money is probably gone the next day. A trophy still makes it a hobby. Money makes it a business. Goodby fun and relaxation. Have seen this happen over the years to people who make and or build things. They make them for enjoyment and to look at then someone says you should sell them for some MONEY. Soon the fun factor is gone. Money kills the spirit(and the hobby factor). Enough said. Richard
  14. I'm not a real big 57Chevy fan but yours I like. Richard
  15. Thank You Fernando. I have been trying to find this for a long time in any form. My wife had to come into the room to see why I was making strange laughing and giggling sounds. Whoopie! P.S. Two more good racing movies are Winning with Paul Newman and The Racers with Kirk Douglas. Richard
  16. The BIG WHEEL,1949 movie about dirt track racing starring Mickey Rooney. The Lively Set( which I can't find anywhere. And last but not least don't forget "THE KING" Spinout, Speedway, and Viva Las Vegas. Richard
  17. You are so right. I was there in 1963and 1964. I can still close my eyes and hear the cars coming under the Dunlop bridge and braking for the esses(in the middle of the night you got to where you could tell which car was going past by the sound of the car as it was downshifting). This to me has always been THE race. Oh Yeah! Richard
  18. The answer is yes. I don't remember when it started but back then ( if I am right) we didn't have tabs yet, so every year we flipped colors. One year we would be green mountains with white sky and then the next year we would have white mountains and green sky. If you are making plates you can go with either color combination. Hope this helps you. Richard
  19. Before I retired I spent 30some years in the retail world selling things. Karl is the only person that I know of who can outtalk me. I go there a couple times a month and my wife stays in the car. She always wonders why it takes me so long to get back to the car. If she would come in once ,she would find the answer. Richard
  20. Going to enjoy watching this build. When I was 14 my dad decided it was time to teach me to drive. You guessed it. It was a 1951 Plymouth. Good ole 6 with three on the column. Scared my dad to death. Finally traded it for a 1956 Plymouth. Still scared him. Scared our neighbors too. I think your build has brought back a few memories. Richard
  21. Amen Dave,Amen. Sometimes I truly miss those days. Anything you built was alright and cool to each other. We had some pretty wild ideas (not always in scale) but who cared. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. Richard
  22. What are we going to crash in place of the XKE? Richard
  23. Bought my first pair of dice in 1961. They were sitting on the shelf at the autoparts store right next to the eightball gearshift knob that I was getting that day. We also hung our graduation tassles with the dice. Why? Dunno. It just seemed cool. Still is. Richard
