  1. I believe the rumble seat was a very popular option in just about every year it was available so dealers probably ordered cars for their showrooms and lots already equipped that way.
  2. At the annual community car show in our village we had beautiful weather which naturally equals lots of cool rides that might otherwise not leave their garages. That group ran the gamit from a 12 cyl Ferrari to '23 Chevy touring car. My absolute favorite was a'27 Buick speedster with a twin carb straight six engine and only slightly muffled exhaust.
  3. Great set of "rusting in peace" photos. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Great to hear that the builders in your area started a club. That can be fun and motivation for everyone involved. Welcome to the best forums on the net.
  5. All of the JF stuff is great. He offers a lot of unique vehicles for those just plain bored with the selection of injection molded corporate offerings. The last time I spoke with him in person he told me offers 3,200 different items!
  6. It looks like you are trying intentionally create what the majority of us are trying to avoid. The first thing I thought of was how overly thick paint spurts of a my rattle cans at the worst possible time leading to bad words being mumbled through clinched teeth. I personally could not out that much effort into a project then bug splatter it. Maybe a friend would be willing to hold the car out of a moving car window on a buggy late night drive. Of course this is all in jest. Hope someone here can offer you real suggestions to achieve the look you want:)
  7. We look forward to seeing your builds here Jeff. With your creative background and artistic abilities they should be fun to look at. Welcome to the forums.
  8. We live in Jackson Center,Ohio which is the home if the Airstream trailer factory so out of state license plates are not uncommon. However this week there are hundreds of Airstreams in town for their annual Alumapaloosa rally so our little two traffic light village has them everywhere. What I saw was a plate from the Northwest Territories. That's the plate shaped like a polar bear. First one I have ever actually seen.
  9. The body design feature that determines if a vehicle is a roadster is the the top. If it looks like your model, with a foldable fabric top over a two seat interior and a fixed(non-folding),body colored windshield It's a roadster. That same basic size body with a steel roof with two Windows on each is a five window coupe. If there is only one side window in that steel top it's a three window coupe when you count the windshield. I hope that helps a little.
  10. This geographic area in west central Ohio is known as of As the Great Miami Valley. I mention that because the national weather service has confirmed that we had 13 tornados In the Miami Valley on memorial day weekend. Normally the entire state has 19 per year,so far there have been 34.
  11. If the water gets that deep it's time to start building a really big boat. If you need help building that boat I "Noah" guy
  12. Me also, that's all it's good for. Build 'em!
  13. Great build of a classic kit.IIRC The reason that step pad is there and the deck lid handle is at the top of the lid is because this was a rumble seat equipped car. Without that step pad the deck lid handle was out of reach for most people. Non rumble seat cars had the handle at the bottom of the lid. Nice to see a stock built example. Thanks for sharing.
  14. The last of my unbuilts to go will probably be my '58-'62 annuals. If i look at what I have actually built in the last five years exactly none of them were kit based. Everything was either scratchbuilt or resin cast. That tells me how many kits I really need to hang on to. Finishing my early built-up annuals that need refreshing and a few parts will take more years than I have left to build. Add to that my unfinished projects and I am well set for stuff to do.
  15. Be sure to post your projects here for us to enjoy. Most of all have fun doing what you love.
  16. Nice selection of long roof Chevy products there John. Thanks for sharing.
  17. How did you do the gold trim?
  18. Wonderfully planned and executed models. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Shame all the writing is in another language and all parts are black. Difficult to see if appreciate.
  20. I am not familiar with what ever this car is including who makes it. With your mention of him trading it in for a Rogue plus 50K can I assume it's Nissan?
