  1. IMHO I guess I just don't get it.Why bother to spend all this money and time to convert a spool of what seems to be grass trimmer line into car parts that still need so much body work be be presentable? It seems almost counter productive.Wouldn't it be about as easy to scratch build or kit bash the parts? I readily admit to being too old (in my 70's)to embrace every new tech that is developed but is this one more generational gap thing that is only accessible to those with deep pockets and a degree in the computer sciences? I am also not denying this is without a doubt the future of a certain portion of our hobby. Are we aproaching a time when a model on display will have to list the printer brand and material used as part of it's descripton rather than what kit it was based on? Seems like a lot of questions to me.Just wondering out loud I guess.
  2. You can't fix stupid.......but you CAN numb it with a piece sized piece of two by four !
  3. This level of excellence is gonna bunkrupt my vocabulary!

  7. As always there is a wealth of info available to any builder on this forum just for the asking.
  8. Several years ago while planning a scratch built truck with some flat exterior panels that needed handles I bought some slam locks from a place called the parts dept. They were offered by McKean models co,707 E.41st.St # 236,Sioux Falls,SD,57105.There are 8 pieces on a sprue molded in black plastic.Don't know if they're still around but if they are that just might be what you're looking for.
  9. Nice to see a modern luxury car built so nicely.

  12. What a great idea and very well done!Welcome to tiny town cruise night.
  13. Don't you love it when a plan comes togeather!!
  14. Can we please see images of the body for this car?I am wondering if you will be able to print the basic body shell in one piece or if it will have to be done as separate panels due to it's complexity.Knowing nothing about this tech I wonder if the parts as printed will be smooth or require a lot of work to become paint ready. I have seen a few fairly nice pieces but also seen images of very rough parts that resembled rough sawn lumber that were going to need a lot of work to be presentable.
  15. Let's not forget that unless you are a box art or an OOB builder.......every kit you ever buy is basically raw material.Rejoyce for all the treasure trove of extra parts in the box and buy it anyway!
  16. For anyone who has not followed the blue John Frye link at the beginning,be sure you take time to do that. There a some really amazing digital drawings and several more links to folow that are very impressive.
  17. I agree that the windshield is too tall.It draws the eye up and away from an otherwise very sleek body shape. Please share the vintage travel trailer I see in the background with us at some point. That is very cool as well.
  18. John, send me a PM and I'll mail you a full size photo copy of my ruler.
  19. Nice '57 with great BMF work.
